RTX 5090 Bundle in Taiwan Forces Buyers to Pay $7,481 for Eight Motherboards and a PSU

A Taiwanese retailer is offering NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 only through large hardware bundles, with one package costing about $7,481 and including eight motherboards plus a 1000W power supply.

The listing shows how difficult it can still be to buy high end GPUs as standalone products in some markets. Instead of selling the RTX 5090 separately, the retailer is pairing it with several other PC components, making the total purchase much more expensive.

The most unusual package includes a Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5090 Master along with eight Gigabyte motherboards and one 1000W PSU.

The $7,481 Gigabyte package costs 241,290 New Taiwan Dollars.

The eight motherboards include a mix of Intel and AMD models, including B860M, X870E and several B850 boards. The package also includes a 1000W power supply.

The additional motherboards and PSU are estimated to account for about $1,600 of the total value. That leaves roughly $6,000 associated with the RTX 5090 portion of the bundle, far above normal reference pricing for the GPU.

Other bundles are even more expensive

The MSI GeForce RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC package costs around $8,498.

It includes three MSI MPG X870E Carbon motherboards, two B650M Gaming Plus boards and an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor.

Another bundle combines an ASUS ProArt RTX 5090 OC with four ASUS Dual Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics cards. That package costs around $7,720.

The fourth notable option is built around the Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5090 AI BOX, an external graphics enclosure containing a desktop RTX 5090. It also includes an X870E motherboard, two RTX 5060 graphics cards and three B850M motherboards for a total of around $8,281.

These packages are clearly not aimed at buyers who simply want one GPU for a personal gaming PC.

GPU shortages are changing how some retailers sell hardware

High end graphics card availability remains uneven, and retailers in some regions have increasingly used bundles to move limited stock.

Bundling can help stores sell slower moving components alongside products that are in much higher demand. It can also make it harder for buyers to determine how much they are effectively paying for the GPU itself.

For someone building a single gaming PC, receiving eight motherboards with one RTX 5090 makes little practical sense. The extra hardware would need to be resold or used in multiple systems to recover part of the cost.

The listings also show that availability alone does not always mean good value. A retailer may technically have an RTX 5090 in stock, but requiring several thousand dollars of additional hardware can make the card effectively inaccessible to normal buyers.

Until standalone supply improves, unusual bundles like these may continue appearing in markets where RTX 5090 inventory remains limited.
