Rayman Legends Retold Delayed to December 3 Despite Going Gold

Rayman Legends Retold will no longer launch on October 1. Ubisoft has moved the remake to December 3, 2026, giving the development team roughly two additional months to polish the game before release.

The delay is notable because the project has already gone gold, which normally means the primary release build is complete and ready for manufacturing or distribution. Ubisoft says the extra time will be used to make sure every part of the game receives additional attention before launch.

The remake is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. It will cost $39.99.

Ubisoft is using the delay for additional polish

According to the development team, the additional development period is intended to give more attention to smaller details rather than make major changes to the project.

A new overview trailer is scheduled for September 22. Updated hands on impressions from media outlets and content creators are also expected around the same time, which should provide a clearer look at the current state of the remake.

Previous previews and trailers have already shown that Rayman Legends Retold is keeping the colorful presentation and platforming style of the 2013 original while adding new material.

The remake includes new musical stages, including sequences based on Can’t Touch This by M.C. Hammer and Macarena by Los Del Rio. A completely new realm is also part of the package.

These additions mean the project is more than a straightforward visual refresh, although the original game's structure and style remain central to the remake.

Deluxe Edition includes Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition

Ubisoft is also offering a Deluxe Edition that includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition at no additional cost.

That remastered version of Rayman Origins had also been expected on October 1. Ubisoft has not confirmed a separate new release date for it, so its schedule may have changed alongside Rayman Legends Retold.

The company has not yet clarified whether Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition will still launch earlier or move to December 3 with the main remake.

Rayman Legends originally launched in 2013 and became one of the most widely released entries in the series, eventually appearing across several generations of hardware.

Retold gives Ubisoft an opportunity to bring the game to modern systems while adding material designed specifically for the remake.

The December 3 release now places it later in the year than originally planned, but the game's completed production status suggests the remaining work is focused on refinement rather than large scale development changes.
