NVIDIA has released a new GeForce driver ahead of several major PC game launches, including Forza Horizon 6, Directive 8020, and Subnautica 2.
The new driver adds support for DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and DLSS Multi Frame Generation in supported games. That makes it especially important for players using RTX 50 series graphics cards, since Multi Frame Generation can deliver much higher frame rates when paired with the right hardware and display.
Directive 8020 is already available and launches with DLSS 4.5 support. Supermassive Games’ sci fi horror title also supports DLSS Ray Reconstruction and path tracing at launch, giving high end RTX users more visual options.
Forza Horizon 6 is the bigger release for many players. The game launches fully on May 19, 2026, but Premium Edition buyers can start playing from May 15. The latest driver prepares RTX owners for the Horizon Festival’s move to Japan.
NVIDIA says Forza Horizon 6 can deliver up to 5.2 times average performance with DLSS 4.5 and Multi Frame Generation on RTX 50 series GPUs at 4K.
| GPU | NVIDIA’s claimed Forza Horizon 6 performance at 4K |
|---|---|
| RTX 5070 Ti | Over 200 FPS |
| RTX 5080 | Over 230 FPS |
| RTX 5090 | Around 330 FPS |
At lower resolutions, NVIDIA’s charts show even higher results. The RTX 5090 is shown reaching more than 400 FPS at 1440p and close to 500 FPS at 1080p, though players will need a very high refresh rate monitor to actually benefit from frame rates that high.
Subnautica 2 is also part of this DLSS update wave, giving players another way to improve performance in the upcoming underwater survival sequel.
Blades of Fire is getting DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation support too, alongside its 2.0 version launching on May 14.

This driver release is mainly about timing. NVIDIA wants players ready before several big games arrive in the same week. If you are planning to play Forza Horizon 6, Subnautica 2, Directive 8020, or Blades of Fire on an RTX GPU, updating the driver before launch is the safest move.
The biggest gains will come for RTX 50 series owners, especially in Forza Horizon 6, where Multi Frame Generation can push frame rates far beyond what native rendering would normally allow. Still, DLSS Super Resolution should help a wider range of RTX cards improve performance while keeping image quality strong.
NVIDIA also announced a new 007 First Light GeForce RTX 50 series bundle this week, showing that it is pairing its latest driver push with another major gaming promotion.
For PC players, the message is simple. Several big releases are arriving with modern DLSS support, and NVIDIA’s latest driver is built to make sure RTX systems are ready on day one.
