Nintendo Direct Reveals Several Xbox and PC Games Beyond Switch 2 Headlines

Nintendo’s June 2026 Direct was packed with major Switch 2 news, including a new Xenoblade game and the official reveal of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. But the showcase was not only important for Nintendo players. Several games shown during the event are also coming to Xbox and PC, giving the Direct a wider impact across platforms.

The biggest name in the lineup was Kingdom Hearts 4, which returned with a new trailer after years of silence. The showcase also confirmed Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Final Fantasy Resonance, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, Atelier Karia, and Tales of Eternia Remastered for Xbox and PC.

That mix gave the event a strong Japanese RPG and action RPG focus. For Xbox players in particular, it was another sign that third party Japanese support continues to expand beyond Nintendo and PlayStation platforms.

Kingdom Hearts 4 and Dragon’s Dogma 2 led the third party announcements

Kingdom Hearts 4 was one of the most notable reveals. After its first trailer in 2022, the game had been quiet for years. The new footage showed Sora in Quadratum, with glimpses of combat and story scenes. The game is planned for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and Epic Games Store at launch.

Square Enix also confirmed Kingdom Hearts Collection I to III, a compilation that includes Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III with Re Mind. The collection arrives October 8, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, PS5, and Switch 2, while the PC version is already available through Steam and Epic Games Store.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen also made a strong appearance. Capcom’s expansion adds the icy region of Norgan, new Dungeon Challenges, Relics, fresh cosmetics, and new enemies. It launches October 9, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

Square Enix used the showcase to push more RPGs onto Xbox and PC

Final Fantasy Resonance was another major reveal because it is being described as the first Final Fantasy game built in an HD 2D style. The game follows a young knight named Rain, who must protect the world’s crystals from Veritas of the Dark. It includes turn based combat, party members, large monsters, and summons based on classic Final Fantasy heroes, including Cloud Strife.

The game is set for October 22, 2026, and will launch on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch 1, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. That makes it one of the more notable cross platform Final Fantasy announcements in recent years.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World also received a gameplay reveal and a release date. The game stars Bianca and Nera and keeps the spin off series’ familiar focus on befriending monsters, raising them, fusing them, and using them in turn based battles. It launches December 3, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch 1, Switch 2, and PC.

Together, Final Fantasy Resonance and Dragon Quest Monsters show Square Enix continuing to spread more of its RPG catalog across Xbox and PC rather than keeping major releases locked to one ecosystem.

Anime, alchemy, and classic Tales also joined the lineup

Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton brings the popular anime and manga series into a Vampire Survivors style format. Players choose Jujutsu Kaisen characters and fight waves of monsters, but the twist is an 8 player competitive battle royale format. Players race to defeat enemies faster than rivals before the final two survivors face off in a duel.

Atelier Karia: The Kingdom of Night and the Signpost of Reminence is the next Atelier game, following Karia as she searches for her lost memories and learns the secrets of alchemy. It features exploration, ingredient gathering, alchemy, and real time battles that can be paused for tactical choices. It is planned for early 2027 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Switch 2, and PC.

Tales of Eternia Remastered rounds out the list as a revival of an early Tales entry. The remaster keeps the two world story centered on Meredy while updating the experience with HD visuals and quality of life improvements. It launches October 16, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Switch 1, Switch 2, and PC.

Nintendo’s Direct may have been built around Switch 2 momentum, but the wider platform news was hard to ignore. Xbox and PC players are getting a strong run of Japanese RPGs, remasters, anime spin offs, and action RPG expansions through late 2026 and early 2027.

For a Nintendo event, this was also a surprisingly strong Xbox and PC showcase.
