Montech has brought an unusual PC case idea to Computex 2026 with a version of its Ten Wood chassis that includes a built in scent diffuser. The case is designed not only to house your components, but also to make the space around your desk smell better while the system is running.
The idea is simple. Montech has placed a small wooden scent puck near the top of the case. You can add a scent or essential oil to the puck, and the heat from the PC helps slowly release the aroma into the room. It is a small feature, but it gives the case a different purpose from the usual airflow, lighting, and glass panel upgrades that dominate the PC case market.
What makes the idea more interesting is that it does not appear to lock you into one fixed scent. Since the puck can be infused with a scent of your choice, you could customize it based on your own preference. That could mean something fresh, mild, woody, or anything else that fits your workspace.
Wood accents are becoming a visible trend at Computex
The scent diffuser is the headline feature, but the Ten Wood case also follows another Computex trend: natural wood accents. Montech is using real walnut and beechwood on the case, giving it a warmer look than the usual metal and glass designs.
This is not the only wood themed PC case shown at the event. Gigabyte also displayed a wood and glass PC case, which suggests that more hardware makers are exploring softer, furniture like designs for desktop setups. For years, gaming cases have leaned heavily on sharp angles, black panels, RGB lighting, and aggressive styling. Wood trim gives builders another direction, especially if they want a PC that blends better with a home office, studio, or living room.
| Feature | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Wooden scent puck | Uses PC heat to diffuse scent |
| Custom scent support | Lets you add your own preferred oil or aroma |
| Walnut and beechwood accents | Gives the case a warmer, more natural look |
| Computex 2026 design trend | Matches the growing interest in wood themed PC hardware |
| Desk setup focus | Makes the case part of the room experience, not only the PC build |
The scent feature is strange, but it fits the direction of modern PC cases
PC cases have changed a lot over the last decade. They are no longer just boxes for components. Many now include panoramic glass, vertical GPU support, built in screens, fan hubs, RGB controllers, wooden panels, mesh airflow designs, and cable hiding layouts. Montech’s scent puck is unusual, but it fits that larger shift toward cases becoming part of the user’s desk environment.

The feature could also appeal to people who spend long hours at their setup. A pleasant scent will not improve frame rates or CPU temperatures, but it may make the workspace feel more personal. That matters for buyers who care about how their desk looks and feels, not just how the PC performs.
There are still practical questions. Montech will need to make sure the scent puck is easy to remove, clean, and reuse. The company will also need to avoid any design that could let oils drip into the case or affect components. If handled properly, though, the feature could be harmless and fun.
The Ten Wood case may not be for everyone. Some builders will see a scent diffuser as unnecessary. Others may find it clever, especially if they already use candles, diffusers, or essential oils around their setup.
At Computex 2026, the case stands out because it takes PC customization in a different direction. Instead of only focusing on visuals and performance, Montech is experimenting with how a PC can change the atmosphere of the room around it.
