Mindcop and Shogun Showdown Are Free on the Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store has refreshed its weekly giveaway lineup, replacing last week's free games with Mindcop and Shogun Showdown.

Both games are available to claim until September 24, 2026. Once added to your Epic Games Store library during the giveaway period, they remain tied to your account permanently.

The new offer replaces Luftrausers and Astral Ascent, which were available during the previous week.

Mindcop focuses on time limited detective work

Mindcop is a nonlinear detective game in which you play as a police officer investigating a murder.

The central challenge is that the investigation is limited to five in game days. Every action takes time, so you need to decide which characters to question, what clues to follow and which leads may not be worth pursuing.

The game also includes a puzzle based mechanic that lets you enter people's minds and uncover information they may be hiding.

That makes resource management an important part of the experience. Time becomes something you need to spend carefully, rather than simply moving from one objective to another without consequences.

The story can also lead to two different endings depending on the decisions you make and how successfully you identify the correct suspect.

Shogun Showdown mixes tactics with deck building

Shogun Showdown takes a very different approach.

It is a turn based strategy game with roguelike and deck building elements. Combat takes place on a grid, where positioning and timing are central to survival.

Enemies reveal their intended actions, giving you a chance to decide whether to move, wait or attack.

The challenge comes from planning several steps ahead while arranging your available abilities in the right order.

Progression continues across runs as you unlock additional characters, attacks, abilities and other options.

Death is part of the structure rather than a complete reset, with each run contributing to a broader progression system.

Both games are available until September 24

The two titles can be claimed for free until September 24.

You do not need to install them immediately. As long as you add the games to your Epic Games Store account while the promotion is active, you can download and play them later.

After the giveaway ends, another set of free games is expected to replace them as part of Epic's regular weekly rotation.

Mindcop is likely to appeal more to players who enjoy investigative stories, dialogue choices and time management, while Shogun Showdown is aimed at players who prefer tactical combat and repeatable roguelike progression.

The current offer therefore covers two very different styles of game, making this week's giveaway broader than a typical single genre promotion.
