Microsoft Confirms Large Xbox Showcase for Gamescom 2026

Microsoft has confirmed a major Xbox presence at Gamescom 2026, with 140 gaming stations and 25 upcoming titles available for visitors to play.

The Xbox booth will be located in Hall 7 at booth A 0.61 during the event, which runs from August 26 through August 30. Microsoft is using this year’s appearance to mark 25 years of Xbox and plans to feature games from its internal studios alongside projects from external development partners.

The confirmed lineup includes several high profile releases, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Fable, Minecraft Dungeons II, Gears of War: E Day, Metro 2039, Stranger Than Heaven and Alien: Isolation 2.

Microsoft has also scheduled live broadcasts for August 26 and August 27. These presentations will include developer interviews, special guests, new trailers, gameplay demonstrations and additional announcements from the event.

Xbox will offer a broad selection of playable games

Microsoft’s booth will include first party projects as well as games created by independent and partner studios.

Among the largest confirmed titles is Fable, the next entry in Microsoft’s fantasy role playing series. Gears of War: E Day will also be playable, giving attendees another opportunity to see the prequel before its release.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is included in the lineup, while Minecraft Dungeons II will represent another major franchise under Microsoft’s ownership. Metro 2039, developed by 4A Games, and Stranger Than Heaven from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will expand the selection beyond Xbox’s internal teams.

Alien: Isolation 2 is another notable addition. The sequel follows the well regarded survival horror game that placed greater emphasis on stealth and avoiding a powerful enemy rather than direct combat.

Other confirmed playable titles include Alien Deathstorm, Bad Magpie, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, Crowsworn, Genigods: Nezha, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Star Wars Zero Company, Terrible Lizards, Turok: Origins and Valor Mortis.

The range suggests Microsoft wants the booth to represent several genres, including role playing games, shooters, horror, strategy and action adventures. Visitors will be able to try large commercial releases alongside smaller projects that may receive less attention during the main presentations.

Microsoft is placing strong emphasis on accessibility

The Xbox booth will include several accessibility features intended to support visitors with different physical and sensory requirements.

Microsoft will provide wheelchair access, adjustable desks and monitors, and Xbox Adaptive Controllers. Staff members will also be available to help visitors configure suitable control arrangements.

A quiet room will offer a reduced sensory environment for people who may find the main exhibition floor uncomfortable. This could be useful because Gamescom halls are often crowded, brightly lit and noisy throughout the day.

Interpreters for American Sign Language, British Sign Language and German Sign Language will also be available. These measures reflect Microsoft’s continuing focus on making games and gaming events more accessible.

Two Xbox broadcasts will cover announcements from the show

Microsoft will stream Gamescom programming on August 26 and August 27 for people who cannot attend in person.

The broadcasts are expected to include interviews with developers, gameplay footage, trailers and special guests. Microsoft has not provided a full schedule, so additional games and announcements may still be confirmed before the event begins.

Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place one day earlier on August 25. The presentation is hosted by Geoff Keighley and will feature announcements from several publishers.

Microsoft may use Opening Night Live to reveal further details about upcoming Xbox games before allowing attendees to play selected titles at the booth. However, no additional Xbox announcements have been confirmed for the show.

The large number of stations and playable projects makes Microsoft’s booth one of the most substantial announced attractions for Gamescom 2026. It also gives Xbox a visible way to celebrate its 25 year history while directing attention towards its next group of releases.
