INNOCN Introduces a Flat 49 Inch Ultrawide Monitor With Mini LED and 165Hz Support

INNOCN has introduced two new 49 inch ultrawide monitors that stand out for using a flat 32:9 panel instead of the curved design usually found at this size. The E49M1G and E49M1R are built for people who want a wide dual monitor style workspace without a bezel in the middle, while avoiding the curved screen shape common in the category.

Both displays use a 49 inch VA panel with Mini LED backlighting and 1,760 local dimming zones. That should allow the monitors to offer stronger contrast and more controlled HDR brightness than standard edge lit LCD displays. INNOCN lists HDR1000 support, 100% sRGB coverage, 96% DCI P3 coverage, 93% Adobe RGB coverage, and Delta E below 2 colour accuracy.

The main difference between the two models is resolution and refresh rate. The E49M1G uses a 3840 x 1080 panel running at up to 144Hz, while the higher end E49M1R increases this to 5120 x 1440 at 165Hz.

A Flat 32:9 Screen Offers a Different Kind of Ultrawide Setup

Most 49 inch super ultrawide monitors use a curve to bring the far edges closer to your viewing position. That can work well for gaming and immersive content, but it is not ideal for everyone.

A flat panel may be more useful for tasks where straight lines, edge alignment, and window organisation matter. Traders, video editors, developers, office workers, and people managing multiple dashboards may prefer a flat layout that feels more similar to placing two 27 inch monitors side by side.

The 5120 x 1440 E49M1R model is particularly close to having two 2560 x 1440 displays combined into one uninterrupted screen. You can keep separate apps, browser windows, timelines, spreadsheets, or communication tools open without dealing with a centre bezel.

Mini LED Backlighting Could Help With HDR Content

Both monitors use Mini LED lighting with 1,760 local dimming zones. This means the backlight can adjust brightness across different parts of the screen instead of lighting the full panel equally.

For HDR movies, games, and video work, that can help bright areas look more intense while darker parts of the image retain better contrast. It will not provide the same pixel level control as OLED, but it may offer a useful balance for people concerned about OLED burn in or those who spend long hours with static desktop content.

The listed HDR1000 rating suggests these monitors are intended to deliver much higher peak brightness than many regular office displays.

Global Availability Has Not Been Confirmed

INNOCN has listed both models in China, but the current retail page shows them as sold out. There is no confirmed release date for Europe or North America, and the company has not announced international pricing.

The E49M1R is the more interesting model for people who want a high resolution, high refresh rate ultrawide display without a curve. Its 5120 x 1440 resolution offers more desktop space than the lower resolution version, while 165Hz should make movement feel smoother in games and everyday use.

The flat design may remain a niche choice in the 49 inch category, but INNOCN’s new monitors give buyers an option that has been difficult to find until now.
