HKC has revealed the full specifications of two RGB Mini LED gaming monitors first shown at Computex 2026, alongside a more affordable Fast IPS model aimed at mainstream players.
The new premium displays are the APEX 27U165D and APEX 32U165VD. Both support a dual mode system that lets you switch between 4K at 165Hz and Full HD at 330Hz, giving you a choice between sharper visuals and a faster refresh rate.
HKC also introduced the Falcon 27U165A, a lower priced Fast IPS monitor that offers a similar dual mode setup. It runs at 4K and 165Hz or Full HD and 320Hz, while costing considerably less than the company’s RGB Mini LED models.
The monitors were presented at Bilibili World 2026, where HKC focused on high brightness, wide colour coverage, and flexible gaming performance.
RGB Mini LED models use thousands of dimming zones
The 27 inch APEX 27U165D and 31.4 inch APEX 32U165VD use RGB Mini LED backlighting. Unlike conventional Mini LED systems that rely on white or blue LEDs combined with colour filters, RGB Mini LED technology uses separate red, green, and blue light sources.
This approach can improve colour volume and brightness while helping the display reproduce a wider range of colours.
The 27 inch model includes 3,456 local dimming zones, while the larger 31.4 inch version increases that number to 4,788 zones. A higher zone count can provide more precise control over bright and dark areas of an image, although final performance will still depend on the monitor’s dimming algorithm.
| Model | Panel size | 4K mode | Full HD mode | Dimming zones |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| APEX 27U165D | 27 inches | 165Hz | 330Hz | 3,456 |
| APEX 32U165VD | 31.4 inches | 165Hz | 330Hz | 4,788 |
| Falcon 27U165A | 27 inches | 165Hz | 320Hz | Not specified |
Both premium displays offer peak brightness of up to 1,400 nits and full screen brightness of 700 nits. HKC also claims 14 bit colour precision and a low reflection coating with reflectivity below 1.8 percent.
The monitors are positioned for gaming and visual work that benefits from strong HDR, wide colour coverage, and high refresh rates.
Wide colour coverage targets gaming and professional use
HKC says the RGB Mini LED monitors cover 99.9 percent of the DCI P3 colour space, 99.9 percent of Adobe RGB, and 100 percent of sRGB.
The company also lists BT.2020 coverage of 95 percent for the 27 inch model and 98 percent for the larger display.
These figures suggest that the monitors may be useful for more than gaming. Wide colour gamut support can also benefit video editing, design work, and other colour sensitive tasks.
However, colour coverage figures alone do not confirm accuracy. Calibration quality, panel uniformity, gamma performance, and HDR tone mapping will determine how suitable the displays are for professional work.
The dual mode feature is likely to be one of the main attractions for players. At 4K and 165Hz, the monitors are designed for visually detailed games and general desktop use. Switching to Full HD at 330Hz gives competitive players a faster refresh rate when resolution is less important.
The 31.4 inch model includes stronger connectivity
The APEX 32U165VD includes DisplayPort 2.1 and two USB Type C ports. One of the USB Type C connections supports up to 98W of power delivery, allowing the monitor to charge compatible laptops and other devices.
The 27 inch APEX model also includes USB Type C charging, but its power delivery limit is slightly lower at 90W.

DisplayPort 2.1 gives the monitors more bandwidth for high resolution and high refresh rate signals. The exact compression requirements will depend on the implemented DisplayPort specification and the connected graphics card.
HKC has not announced retail prices or wider availability for the two RGB Mini LED monitors. As premium models with thousands of dimming zones, they are expected to cost significantly more than conventional IPS displays.
Falcon 27U165A offers dual mode gaming for about $235
The Falcon 27U165A is HKC’s more affordable alternative. It uses a Fast IPS panel rather than RGB Mini LED technology, but it retains the ability to switch between 4K and Full HD modes.
The monitor supports 4K at 165Hz and Full HD at 320Hz. It also offers 95 percent DCI P3 coverage, VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, and claimed colour accuracy below Delta E 2.
Connectivity includes DisplayPort 2.1 with 54Gbps bandwidth and HDMI 2.1 ports.
HKC has priced the monitor at 1,683 yuan, equivalent to about $248. A five percent discount reduces the price to 1,599 yuan, or approximately $235.
That price makes the Falcon model considerably more accessible than most RGB Mini LED displays. It will not provide the same local dimming performance, contrast, or peak brightness, but it still offers a useful combination of 4K resolution and high refresh rate gaming.
HKC is targeting both premium and budget players
The new lineup gives HKC products for two different parts of the gaming monitor market.
The APEX 27U165D and APEX 32U165VD focus on brightness, colour volume, HDR, and local dimming precision. Their dual mode support also gives players more flexibility than a monitor fixed to one resolution and refresh rate.
The Falcon 27U165A follows the same idea at a much lower price by using a Fast IPS panel. Its $235 discounted price could make it attractive to players who want 4K for slower games and 320Hz Full HD for competitive titles.
HKC has not confirmed when the RGB Mini LED monitors will reach retail stores or whether they will launch outside China. More information about pricing, response times, adaptive sync support, and panel performance will be needed before their overall value can be judged.
