Halo: Campaign Evolved Launches on Xbox Game Pass With Six Free Master Chief Skins

Halo: Campaign Evolved is now available worldwide on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and PlayStation 5, with the standard edition included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate from launch.

The remake returns to the campaign that introduced Master Chief in 2001, but adds modern visuals, expanded cooperative play, and new customisation options. Up to four players can complete the campaign together, while the Perspective Skull allows the action to be viewed from a third person camera.

Halo Studios has also released several free armour styles for Master Chief. Some are unlocked automatically, while others require account linking, promotional codes, Twitch viewing, or participation in outside campaigns.

Availability may vary because a few of the promotions are time limited or have experienced delays when sending rewards to players.

Six free Master Chief armour styles are available

The free rewards include Stream of the Crop, Silver Anniversary, Sandstone Ancient, Xbox 25th Anniversary, Hidden Blade, and Fantastic Spartan armour.

Each reward has a different redemption method.

Armour styleHow to unlock it
Stream of the CropWatch two hours of an eligible Twitch stream with Drops enabled
Silver AnniversaryLaunch the game for the first time
Sandstone AncientRedeem a promotional code through Halo Waypoint
Xbox 25th AnniversaryRedeem a promotional code through Halo Waypoint
Hidden BladeComplete the relevant Discord Quest
Fantastic SpartanComplete the Fanta promotion and redeem the reward

Players should connect their Twitch account to Halo Waypoint before starting the required viewing period for the Stream of the Crop reward. Watching an eligible stream for two hours should make the Drop available to claim.

Several players have reported delays between claiming the Twitch reward and seeing it appear inside the game. Linking the correct Microsoft, Twitch, and Halo Waypoint accounts is important, but even properly connected accounts may need time to synchronise.

Silver Anniversary armour unlocks automatically

The Silver Anniversary armour and matching Assault Rifle style are the easiest rewards to obtain.

Both should appear in the customisation menu after the game is launched for the first time. No external account, code, or promotional activity is required.

Players who do not immediately see the reward should restart the game and confirm that they are connected to the Xbox network.

The other rewards generally need to be entered or claimed through Halo Waypoint. Once accepted, they should be connected to the Microsoft account used inside the game.

Two armour coatings use public redemption codes

The Sandstone Ancient and Xbox 25th Anniversary armour styles can be unlocked with codes entered through the Halo Waypoint redemption page.

The Sandstone Ancient code is:

L563 J46G PZN1 SBF2 AXN6

The Xbox 25th Anniversary code is:

GWT9 DNBT 7X9S DJCX 8KH3

Players should carefully check each character before submitting a code because similar letters and numbers can be easy to confuse.

The Xbox anniversary style uses a translucent green appearance designed to celebrate 25 years of the console brand. Sandstone Ancient uses a more restrained military colour scheme that fits the original Halo setting.

These codes were active when the source information was published, but promotional access can change without warning.

Discord offers the Hidden Blade reward

The Hidden Blade armour style is connected to a Discord Quest.

Players must open Discord, visit the Quests area, and watch a short promotional video. Completing the activity should generate a Halo Waypoint code that can be redeemed using the same process as the other code based rewards.

The video is only around 26 seconds long, making this one of the quicker external promotions.

Discord Quests may not appear in every region or on every account. Availability can also depend on whether the campaign is still active.

The Fanta promotion has caused some confusion

The Fantastic Spartan style turns Master Chief bright orange and was offered through a promotional campaign involving a QR code and a simple puzzle.

Players reported receiving codes through email, although some rewards did not immediately appear in the game after successful redemption. Others initially received a Halo Infinite reward rather than the expected Campaign Evolved armour.

The promotion was also reported to have ended on July 30, meaning new players may no longer be able to begin the process.

Anyone who completed it before the deadline should check their email, including spam and promotional folders, for a message containing the final redemption code.

A claimed reward may still take time to appear in the game’s customisation menu.

Custom armour is most visible during cooperative play

Halo: Campaign Evolved allows up to four players to complete the campaign together, giving armour customisation more visibility than in the original single player experience.

The Perspective Skull also enables a third person view, letting players see more of their selected armour during gameplay.

However, customised appearances may not be shown in every cinematic because some cutscenes use fixed or pre rendered footage.

The free armour styles remain optional and do not affect weapons, movement, health, or any other gameplay system.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is available now through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, while separate versions are sold for Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5. The launch marks the first time a main Halo campaign has released on a PlayStation console, making this remake one of the most unusual entries in the series’ history.
