Rockstar has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch with an $80 standard edition, ending months of speculation that the game could become the first major release to cost $100 at launch. Pre orders are set to open at midnight local time on June 25, ahead of the game’s planned November 19, 2026 release.
The pricing places GTA VI above the traditional $70 standard for new console games, but below the higher figure many players feared. Rockstar has also revealed an Ultimate Edition priced at $100, along with several pre order rewards and a separate upgrade path for people who start with the standard version.
The announcement also confirms that physical copies will include a digital download code rather than a game disc. Rockstar describes GTA VI as a single player release at launch, adding to expectations that its online component will arrive separately at a later time.
GTA VI Standard and Ultimate Edition Prices Explained
The standard edition will cost $80 and includes the full single player game. Players who pre order any edition will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, which adds themed items connected to the classic Vice City style.
The Ultimate Edition costs $100 and includes a larger set of extra vehicles, weapons, clothing, customization options, properties, and story linked activities for Jason and Lucia. Rockstar says these bonuses will unlock gradually as players progress through the campaign.
| Edition | Price | Main Content |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $80 | Full GTA VI single player game |
| Ultimate Edition | $100 | Game plus vehicles, weapons, properties, clothing, tattoos, activities, and extra customization |
| Ultimate Edition Upgrade | Not confirmed | Separate upgrade option for Standard Edition owners |
| Pre Order Bonus | Included with any edition | Vintage Vice City Pack |
| Store Bonus | PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store only | One month of GTA+ |
Ultimate Edition Adds Vehicles, Weapons and Vice City Activities
The Ultimate Edition includes a long list of digital bonuses. Players will get access to several exclusive vehicles, including a Vapid Dominator Buggy, a Grotti Cheetah, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle, a modified pickup truck, a kayak, and a Shitzu Squalo boat.
Rockstar is also adding two exclusive vehicle customization locations, extra garage related content, and a classic car collection activity where players can restore abandoned vehicles.
The edition includes separate weapon variants for Jason and Lucia, along with the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers. Other additions include clothing, hairstyles, tattoos, a salon, a streetwear store, and cosmetic items inspired by Vice City.

The bonus content appears to be designed around the game’s world rather than simply offering early access to powerful weapons or money. That may make it more appealing to players who want additional activities and customization without changing the main story balance too heavily.
Pre Order Pack Includes a Classic Vice City Theme
Anyone who pre orders GTA VI will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. It includes a 1955 Vapid Stanier sedan, access to the Shore Court Garage near Ocean Beach, outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and a weapon pattern inspired by the tropical style associated with earlier Vice City games.
Players who order through the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store will also receive one free month of GTA+. The subscription bonus includes a monthly GTA$500,000 deposit, special Shark Card bonuses, rotating games, discounted vehicles, and other GTA Online related benefits.
Rockstar’s $80 price decision is likely to be closely watched by the rest of the industry. GTA VI is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the current console generation, and its pricing could influence how other publishers approach premium game launches in the years ahead.
