Granblue Fantasy: Relink: Endless Ragnarok now has a playable demo ahead of its July 9 launch on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The demo gives players an early look at the expansion’s story, quests, and tutorial systems before it arrives on the same day as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
The timing is important because July 9 is shaping up to be a crowded release day. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will likely draw more mainstream attention, so Cygames is giving players a chance to try Endless Ragnarok before launch instead of asking them to choose blindly.
The demo is available across all supported platforms and includes three modes: Story Mode, Quest Mode, and Tutorial Mode. That makes it useful for both returning players and newcomers who may have missed Granblue Fantasy: Relink when it first launched.
What the Endless Ragnarok demo includes
The demo gives players several ways to sample the expansion. Story Mode lets players try an early part of the main story, and completing it unlocks rewards that can be redeemed in the full game.
Quest Mode includes four quests that can be played solo or online with other players through crossplay. Three quests are available immediately, while the fourth quest, Sephira’s Sanguine Glimmer, unlocks after the first three are cleared.
Tutorial Mode is designed for players who need a slower introduction to the combat system, characters, and core mechanics.
| Demo mode | What it offers |
|---|---|
| Story Mode | Early story content with rewards for the full game |
| Quest Mode | Four quests with solo and crossplay support |
| Tutorial Mode | Basic lessons for new players |
| Special quest | Sephira’s Sanguine Glimmer |
| Platforms | PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X |
The fourth quest is especially important because it features the new Summon mechanics that help define the Endless Ragnarok expansion.
Returning players have a reason to try it
The demo is not only for new players. Anyone who already completed Granblue Fantasy: Relink may still want to try it because the new quest content introduces mechanics tied to the expansion.

Endless Ragnarok is adding more than a few extra missions. It brings new story content and a single player roguelike mode called The Conflux. That gives the expansion a stronger identity instead of feeling like a simple content pack.
To access the new story in the full release, players will need to complete The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage. The Conflux becomes available through a new sidequest in Seedhollow, which appears after Chapter 6. Further progress in that mode requires harder quests and main story advancement.
The Conflux could give the expansion longer life
The Conflux may become one of the most important additions in Endless Ragnarok. A roguelike mode can give players a reason to return after finishing the story, especially if it offers varied runs, stronger rewards, and meaningful difficulty scaling.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink already had strong action combat, flashy characters, and co op friendly missions. A mode built around repeatable single player progression could help the game appeal to players who want more long term challenge without relying only on multiplayer.
This is also a smart move for an expansion. New story chapters can be completed quickly by dedicated players, but a roguelike mode can stretch the experience further if it is well balanced.
July 9 will be a tough release date
Endless Ragnarok launches on the same day as Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, which makes the demo even more useful. Ubisoft’s game has a much bigger brand behind it, and that could make it harder for other releases to stand out.
A playable demo gives Cygames a better chance to win attention before launch day. Players can test the combat, check performance, and decide whether the expansion is worth buying without waiting for reviews or launch impressions.
This approach also helps in a year where many major games are launching close together. When release calendars get crowded, demos can make a real difference.
More publishers should use demos in crowded months
Granblue Fantasy: Relink: Endless Ragnarok is making the right move by letting players try the game early. Demos are especially helpful for expansions, RPGs, and action games because they let players feel the combat and pacing directly.
With several major games expected across the next few months, players will have to make choices about time and money. A demo can help a smaller or less mainstream release compete more fairly against bigger names.
Endless Ragnarok may not have the same broad reach as Assassin’s Creed, but it has a clearer path to its audience now. The demo gives returning fans new content to test, gives newcomers a safe entry point, and gives Cygames a stronger chance to keep Granblue Fantasy: Relink visible before July 9.
