GeForce NOW Adds 007 First Light Path Tracing and 11 More Games

Nvidia has expanded GeForce NOW again, adding support for 11 more games while also bringing the latest path tracing upgrade for 007 First Light to its highest cloud gaming tier.

The update gives GeForce NOW Ultimate members access to the new visual features in 007 First Light through RTX 5080 class cloud servers. The game now supports path traced lighting, shadows, and reflections, alongside DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction to improve image clarity and detail.

For players without a high end gaming PC, the cloud implementation provides another way to experience these demanding graphics features without running the workload locally. You still need a supported internet connection and an eligible GeForce NOW subscription.

007 First Light gets its latest graphics upgrade in the cloud

The path tracing update is the main technical addition this week. Compared with conventional rasterized lighting, path tracing uses more advanced light simulation to create more detailed reflections, shadows, and indirect lighting.

Nvidia is pairing the feature with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, which uses AI processing to clean up the final image. The result is intended to improve visual quality while reducing some of the performance cost associated with path traced rendering.

GeForce NOW Ultimate members can access these features through the service's RTX 5080 class infrastructure.

The broader update also adds several recently released games and older titles to the cloud service.

Aniimo is one of the more notable new additions. The open world creature collecting RPG recently launched and is now available through GeForce NOW for players who own the supported PC version.

Active Matter also joins the service following its recent release. The extraction shooter adds another multiplayer focused title to the growing GeForce NOW library.

Outer Wilds is another significant addition, although it is an older release. The exploration game is now finally supported through Nvidia's streaming platform.

GeForce NOW still requires game ownership

GeForce NOW works differently from subscription libraries such as Game Pass. In most cases, access to the cloud service does not automatically provide a copy of the game.

You normally need to own the supported title through a compatible storefront such as Steam or GOG. PC Game Pass licenses can also work for supported Xbox versions.

Nvidia also places monthly usage limits on some GeForce NOW subscriptions, so access is not necessarily unlimited even after you own the game.

The company plans to add more supported titles throughout September, continuing its regular weekly expansion of the service. With the latest update, the focus is split between new releases such as Aniimo and Active Matter, established games including Outer Wilds and Stray, and high end visual features for 007 First Light.
