Forza Horizon 6 does not appear to use Denuvo on PC

Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with Premium Edition buyers getting access from May 15. Ahead of release, many PC players have one familiar question: does the game use Denuvo?

Right now, the answer appears to be no.

Microsoft has not given final clarification yet, but the Steam listing for Forza Horizon 6 does not mention Denuvo. That usually matters because Steam pages normally disclose when a game includes third party DRM such as Denuvo.

That does not mean the PC version has no protection at all. If you play through PC Game Pass or the Xbox app, the game will still be tied to Microsoft’s own platform and account systems. But the more controversial Denuvo DRM does not seem to be part of the Steam release.

That is good news for many PC players. Denuvo has a poor reputation because some games have suffered performance problems when it was implemented badly. It does not always hurt performance, but the history is enough to make players cautious whenever a major PC release includes it.

There are also offline concerns. Denuvo generally needs online authentication, which can frustrate players who want to play without a connection or who run into server related issues. In the worst cases, people can be blocked from playing a game they bought because the DRM check fails.

Forza Horizon 6 arriving without visible Denuvo disclosure should make the PC launch feel cleaner. The game is already one of Xbox’s biggest releases of the year, and the lack of Denuvo could help ease concerns around performance and offline access.

For now, the safest wording is that Forza Horizon 6 does not appear to use Denuvo. Unless Microsoft confirms otherwise before launch, PC players should not have to worry about Denuvo being attached to the Steam version.
