Highwind Opens Up Full World Travel

Revelation expands traversal by giving players access to the Highwind airship.

The aircraft can be used to travel across the wider game world, making it a major part of exploration in the final chapter.

On land, players can ride a Chocobo named Piko, which can help with traversal and participate in combat.

A grappling hook has also been added for vertical movement, including climbing taller structures in areas such as Wutai.

These additions suggest Revelation will place greater emphasis on moving freely between large regions rather than keeping exploration limited to individual zones.

FITS Gives Characters Classic Final Fantasy Jobs

One of the biggest combat additions is the FITS system.

FITS allows party members to gain abilities based on classic Final Fantasy Job classes.

For example, Cid can use a Knight FIT to protect allies, while Vincent can equip a Summoner FIT and call powerful creatures such as Ifrit into battle.

This gives party building another layer beyond each character’s normal combat role.

The system should allow players to adjust characters for different encounters without completely replacing their existing abilities.

Party Control Is More Flexible

Revelation also includes several quality of life changes.

Players can choose which character they control while outside combat instead of always being tied to one party leader.

Certain side quests can also be assigned to different party members.

Those choices may affect how some scenes and events unfold, giving side content more variation depending on which characters take part.

Multiple Editions Include Physical and Digital Options

The Standard Edition costs $69.99.

A physical Deluxe Edition is priced at $99.99 and includes a mini soundtrack, artbook, and steelbook case.

The $349.99 Collector’s Edition includes those items along with a premium statue featuring Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth.

It also comes with the Story Expansion Pass and several in game bonuses.

Digital buyers can choose between Standard, Premium, and Premium Plus editions.

The $99.99 Premium Edition includes the Story Expansion Pass and 24 hour early access.

The $109.99 Premium Plus edition adds a digital artbook, soundtrack, additional equipment, and Polydroid Alexander Summon Materia.

A Trilogy Edition priced at $84.99 will bundle Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation.

Two Story DLC Expansions Are Planned

Square Enix is also planning two story focused DLC releases after launch.

The first is scheduled to focus on Sephiroth.

The second will center on Vincent and the Turks.

Both are expected to arrive between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028.

That means the April 2027 launch will complete the main remake trilogy, while additional story content will continue expanding the game for roughly another year.

Final Fantasy VII: Revelation is therefore shaping up as more than a straightforward final chapter, with broader exploration, new Job inspired combat options, expanded party control, and post launch story content planned well beyond release.
