Evercade is expanding its collaboration with Xbox through two new physical game collections and a limited DOOM themed version of its upcoming Nexus handheld.
The DOOM Collection and the Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie Collection will both launch on October 30, 2026 for $29.99 or £24.99. Each release comes on an Evercade cartridge and can be used across compatible Evercade hardware.
Alongside the cartridges, Evercade is also releasing a DOOM Edition Nexus handheld limited to 3,000 units. The special model goes on sale on August 7 at 10am ET or 3pm BST for £199.99.
DOOM Collection brings classic shooters to Evercade
The DOOM Collection includes the original DOOM, DOOM II, six additional mission packs, and a set of levels designed specifically for Deathmatch.
The collection uses an officially licensed native port and includes the original levels along with split screen multiplayer on supported Evercade hardware.

| Price | $29.99 / £24.99 |
| Main games | DOOM and DOOM II |
| Extra content | Six mission packs |
| Multiplayer | Split screen on supported devices |
| Format | Physical Evercade cartridge |
The inclusion of extra mission content makes the package larger than a simple two game compilation.
For players interested in classic shooters, it also provides another officially licensed physical way to own the early DOOM games.
Banjo Kazooie collection includes enhanced versions
The second release combines Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie on one Evercade cartridge.
Both games are presented in enhanced form, with higher resolution visuals, improved frame rates, and additional bonus content.

These are officially licensed new versions rather than direct unchanged releases of the original console builds.
The collection follows an earlier Evercade release of Banjo Kazooie through the Rare Super Pocket, which also introduced unique features for the platform.
Evercade cartridges work across multiple devices
One of the main advantages of the Evercade format is that the cartridges are not tied to a single device.
You can use them across compatible Evercade hardware, including home consoles, handheld systems, and the Evercade Alpha arcade machine.
Progress is stored with the cartridge, allowing you to move between devices while keeping your save data.
Each cartridge also includes a colour manual, maintaining Evercade’s focus on physical presentation.
| Evercade feature | What it offers |
|---|---|
| Physical cartridge | Game ownership in boxed form |
| Multiple device support | Use across compatible Evercade hardware |
| Save portability | Progress travels with the cartridge |
| Colour manual | Included with physical release |
| Home and handheld support | Available |
This approach makes the Xbox collaboration especially notable at a time when much of the wider games industry continues moving toward digital distribution.
DOOM Edition Nexus is limited to 3,000 units
The DOOM Edition Evercade Nexus is aimed more directly at collectors.
Only 3,000 units are being produced, and sales open on August 7.
The standard Evercade Nexus had already been available for preorder before the DOOM model was revealed, but the special edition adds themed styling built around the shooter franchise.

The limited production run means availability could be much tighter than the two game collections.
Xbox is continuing to license older games for Evercade
The latest releases strengthen an existing relationship between Microsoft and Evercade.
Xbox owned properties have already begun appearing on the platform, and the addition of DOOM, Banjo Kazooie, and Banjo Tooie shows that Microsoft is willing to license some of its older catalog for new physical releases.

That gives Evercade access to franchises associated with several parts of Microsoft’s gaming portfolio, including Rare and id Software.
The collaboration is also different from simply making these games available through modern digital storefronts.
Evercade’s model is built around boxed cartridges, manuals, and hardware designed specifically for retro collections.
October 30 brings two major Xbox owned collections
Both game collections arrive on the same day and at the same price, making the choice mainly about which type of classic game you prefer.
The DOOM package focuses on first person shooters and multiplayer, while the Banjo collection offers enhanced versions of two 3D platformers.
| Collection | Games | Price | Release |
|---|---|---|---|
| DOOM Collection | DOOM, DOOM II, extra missions | $29.99 / £24.99 | October 30 |
| Banjo Kazooie Double Pack | Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie | $29.99 / £24.99 | October 30 |
Together with the limited DOOM Nexus handheld, the releases represent one of the larger Xbox and Evercade collaborations so far.
For players interested in physical retro collections, October will bring two more Xbox owned franchises to the platform, while collectors have a much earlier opportunity to pick up the limited Nexus model.
