Dune: Awakening is heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026, with Funcom confirming two graphics modes for the PS5 and PS5 Pro versions.
The developer has also released around seven minutes of PS5 Pro gameplay, giving a clearer look at how the survival game will run on consoles. Performance Mode will target 60 FPS at a dynamic 4K resolution, while Quality Mode will target 30 FPS, also using dynamic 4K.
PS5 Pro will use a higher native resolution in both modes and will include additional visual improvements in Quality Mode. Funcom has not yet detailed the exact rendering resolutions or the specific graphics settings that will be enhanced.

| Cross play | Planned after launch |
| Xbox Game Pass | Included at launch on Xbox |
Console version includes major additions
The console release will include content and improvements introduced to the PC version since its June 2025 debut.
Among the most important additions is a full single player mode. Funcom is also adding scalable difficulty settings and broader gameplay customization, giving you more control over how demanding the experience is.
The console edition will also include the conclusion of the game's current storyline.
Players who buy the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition will be able to start five days early on September 17.
Dune: Awakening will launch both digitally and physically on PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X|S version arrives on the same date and will be available through Xbox Game Pass.
Cross play is coming after launch
Funcom has confirmed that cross play between PC and consoles is in development.
The feature will not be ready for the September 22 console launch, and the studio has not announced a release date.

That means PC, PlayStation and Xbox players will initially remain separated until the cross play update arrives.
The announcement is important for a game built heavily around shared online spaces and survival systems, but players should not expect cross platform multiplayer on day one.
Filmic Archive DLC launches alongside the console versions
Gamescom 2026 also brought details on the Filmic Archive DLC, which launches across supported platforms on September 22 for $9.99.
The pack includes cosmetic content inspired by Denis Villeneuve's Dune films. This includes the Aegis of the Unwalked Path armor seen in Paul Atreides' visions and the Caladan Stormcoat worn by Paul and Duke Leto.
New Sardaukar armor is also included, along with a 73 piece Sardaukar themed base building set.
The console launch therefore arrives as a fairly substantial update for Dune: Awakening. Alongside the new PS5 and Xbox versions, Funcom is adding single player support, difficulty customization, the current story conclusion and new paid cosmetic content.
The PS5 Pro version should offer the strongest console presentation, but the exact visual differences beyond higher native resolution and added Quality Mode improvements remain to be detailed.
