Dreame Unveils Stair-Climbing ‘Cyber X’ Robot Vacuum Concept at CES 2026

At CES 2026, Dreame revealed one of the show’s most eye-catching home robotics concepts. The company introduced Cyber X, a stair-climbing robot vacuum designed to move autonomously between floors without human help.

The concept tackles one of the longest-standing limitations of robot vacuums. Most models stop at the edge of a staircase. Cyber X aims to erase that boundary entirely.

A chassis built to climb real stairs

Cyber X relies on Dreame’s Bionic QuadTrack adaptive chassis, a motorized system that lifts and stabilizes the robot as it climbs. Dreame says the platform can handle steps up to roughly 25 cm (9.8 inches) tall and inclines as steep as 42 degrees.

Unlike earlier experimental designs that struggled with balance, Cyber X includes a braking and locking mechanism. This system keeps the robot steady on each step and prevents sliding, even during stops or low-battery scenarios.

Vision-driven navigation and safety

For navigation, Cyber X uses 3D time-of-flight vision sensors to scan staircases in real time. The system maps each step before climbing and adjusts traction and speed dynamically.

Dreame positions this approach as a safety-first solution. The robot checks step depth, height, and alignment before moving, reducing the risk of missteps or falls.

Vacuuming and mopping across floors

Cyber X goes beyond stair mobility. The concept integrates both vacuuming and mopping, thanks to a built-in water tank. In theory, the robot could clean an entire multi-story home in a single run, without users carrying it upstairs.

That capability aligns with Dreame’s broader CES message around whole-home automation and reduced manual intervention.

Concept only, for now

Dreame clearly labeled Cyber X as a concept prototype. The company did not announce pricing, a release window, or confirmation that the design will reach consumers.

Still, the reveal signals Dreame’s long-term ambitions. Stair-climbing remains one of the final frontiers for consumer robot vacuums, and Cyber X shows a plausible path forward.

Part of a bigger CES push

Cyber X debuted as part of Dreame’s larger CES 2026 showcase, which included new flagship robot vacuums, ultra-thin designs, and advanced AI-powered cleaning systems. Together, they underline the company’s focus on automation that works across the entire home, not just a single floor.

Whether Cyber X reaches store shelves or not, its debut sets a new benchmark for what future robot vacuums may attempt next.
