Dracula: The Disciple turns the classic vampire story into a first person puzzle adventure

Cyanide Studios has revealed Dracula: The Disciple, a new first person puzzle game planned for release in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game was shown during Nacon Connect 2026 and gives Cyanide its own take on the Dracula myth. Instead of playing as a vampire hunter, you play as Émile Valombres, a French archivist suffering from an incurable disease. His search for a cure takes him to a dark castle in Transylvania, where he begins digging into occult secrets.

The twist is that Émile is slowly becoming Dracula himself.

Cyanide describes the game as a “Puzzlevania,” mixing puzzle solving with a castle exploration structure inspired by gothic adventure games. The castle is meant to be central to the experience, with layered mysteries, hidden spaces, and possibly unusual areas such as an upside down castle.

There is still a lot we do not know. Cyanide has not fully explained how combat, exploration, transformation, or progression will work. The “Puzzlevania” label suggests the game may lean more on discovery and environmental puzzles than direct action.

The reveal comes at a difficult time for Cyanide and Nacon. Cyanide is one of the Nacon studios affected by insolvency concerns, and Nacon has already shut down another studio facing similar trouble. That makes the future of Dracula: The Disciple less certain than a normal game announcement.

Still, the concept is strong. A first person gothic puzzle game built around illness, occult research, and a slow transformation into Dracula could give the familiar vampire story a different angle. The biggest question now is whether Cyanide will get the time and stability needed to finish it.
