Crimson Desert has received patch 1.10, and Pearl Abyss is continuing to expand the game with new systems, quality of life improvements, and a surprise addition most players likely did not expect: a pinball minigame.
The new update adds more than a small distraction. The pinball machine can be found at the inn near the Delesyan Institute, and it comes with its own reward structure. Players can earn tokens from the minigame and exchange them at the Marni Token Exchange for several items, including materials, Abyss Artifacts, artifact chests, a helm, furniture, and gear crafting recipes.
That makes the minigame more meaningful than a simple joke or background activity. It gives players another reason to spend time away from combat and exploration while still earning useful rewards.
Patch 1.10 also adds Orb Roll at the Great Gate of Urdavah. Like the pinball minigame, Orb Roll offers rewards, including a Material Box of Fortune, an Abyss Artifact, artifact chests, a golden apple, carpets, and lights. These additions show that Pearl Abyss is trying to make Crimson Desert’s world feel more varied after launch, with activities that support customization and progression.
Re-blockade now feels more rewarding for returning players
One of the most important changes in patch 1.10 is the improved Re-blockade system. This feature was introduced in an earlier update and allows enemy factions to reoccupy liberated strongholds. The new patch makes the system more useful by adding proper rewards for clearing those strongholds again.
Players can now earn contribution, provisions, trade goods, and other items when they liberate a reoccupied stronghold. Major strongholds can also receive Protection through the contribution assessor in each region, which helps prevent them from being taken again.
This makes the world feel more active without making the system feel like busywork. If enemies retake a stronghold, players now have a clearer reason to respond. At the same time, those who want more stability can use Protection to reduce repeated disruption.
| New or improved feature | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Pinball minigame | Tokens exchangeable for artifacts, materials, furniture, and recipes |
| Orb Roll minigame | Rewards such as artifacts, carpets, lights, and a golden apple |
| Improved Re-blockade | Better rewards for liberating reoccupied strongholds |
| Stronghold Protection | Lets players suppress Re-blockades at major strongholds |
| Wyvern mount | New special mount option |
| Kuku Bird Chick | New pet that can grow into a special mount |
Wyverns and Kuku Bird Chicks add more progression outside combat
Patch 1.10 also introduces Wyverns as new mounts and Kuku Bird Chicks as new pets. Both Kuku Bird Chicks and Baby Wyverns can grow after being fed. Once they reach a certain growth level, they can be registered as special mounts.

This gives players another long term activity to engage with beyond missions and combat. The growth system also makes these creatures feel more connected to the player, since they are not simply unlocked and used instantly.
The update also includes several quality of life changes. Basic interactions no longer work as long presses in the default customization preset, which should make normal play feel smoother. Axiom Force controls can now be changed, and Mission Dispatch now has category tabs that sort missions by type instead of only by region.
These may sound like smaller changes, but they matter in a large game where repeated actions and menu flow can affect the overall experience. Pearl Abyss has already been responding to community requests through previous patches, and patch 1.10 continues that pattern.
Crimson Desert’s post launch support is becoming one of its more interesting stories. Pearl Abyss is not only fixing issues. It is adding unusual features, new rewards, better systems, and more world activities at a steady pace.
The pinball machine may be the most surprising part of this update, but it also fits the broader direction. Crimson Desert is becoming a game where post launch patches do more than adjust numbers. They add reasons to return, small surprises to discover, and systems that make the world feel more alive over time.
