Xbox players can try Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Diablo IV, Demonschool, The Stone of Madness, and Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure for free during the latest Free Play Days promotion. Most of the games are available without an active Game Pass subscription, although Ikonei Island still requires Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, or Essential.
The promotion is one of the stronger Xbox Free Play Days lineups in recent weeks because it includes two major Activision Blizzard games alongside several smaller titles from very different genres. Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV will also remain available longer than the other games in the selection.
Black Ops 7 can be played until July 6, while Diablo IV is free to access until July 7. Demonschool, The Stone of Madness, and Ikonei Island will leave the promotion on July 5 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
Call of Duty and Diablo IV Are Available for Longer
The two largest games in the lineup give players more time than a typical weekend trial. That could be useful for anyone who wants to test multiplayer, campaign content, or character progression before deciding whether to buy either game.
Black Ops 7 brings the latest Call of Duty experience to Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, while Diablo IV offers its dark fantasy action RPG world on Xbox Series X and S as well as Xbox One.
| Game | Genre | Available platforms | Free Play Days end date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 | First-person shooter | Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Windows | July 6 |
| Diablo IV | Action RPG | Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One | July 7 |
| Demonschool | Tactical RPG | Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One | July 5 |
| The Stone of Madness | Real-time tactics and stealth | Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Windows | July 5 |
| Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure | Survival crafting game | Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One | July 5 |
The longer access period gives Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV a better chance to hold players’ attention than the usual short free weekend format.
Smaller Games Offer Tactical and Cozy Alternatives
The rest of the lineup is aimed at players looking for something outside large live-service games.
Demonschool is a tactical RPG built around turn-based planning and character-focused storytelling. It should appeal to players who enjoy strategic combat and school-life settings with supernatural elements.

The Stone of Madness takes a different approach with real-time tactical stealth gameplay. It asks players to manage a group of characters while navigating dangerous environments, making careful planning more important than direct combat.
Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure offers the most relaxed option in the promotion. It combines crafting, gathering, exploration, and survival mechanics in a colourful island setting. However, it is the only game in this group that requires an eligible Game Pass membership.
How to Find Xbox Free Play Days Games
You can find the promotion on Xbox consoles through the Microsoft Store. Open the Store, go to the Home section in the sidebar, and then select the Subscriptions tab. The Free Play Days collection should appear there.
Players can also look for each game directly through the Xbox Store search function.
The current selection gives Xbox owners a wide choice of genres, from shooting and action RPG combat to strategy, stealth, and crafting. Black Ops 7 and Diablo IV are likely to draw the largest audiences, but the smaller games may be worth trying before the weekend ends.
