Beast of Reincarnation Will Get Tougher Bosses, Higher Difficulties and Faster New Game Plus Runs

Game Freak is preparing a new round of improvements for Beast of Reincarnation, with planned changes aimed at making combat more challenging, boss encounters less repetitive and New Game Plus progression faster.

The studio says it is continuing to adjust the game based on player feedback following launch.

Its latest patch, version 1.0.12, already introduces some quality of life improvements, including the ability to skip all cutscenes. More substantial changes are planned for future updates.

Bosses will receive revised attack patterns

One of the biggest planned changes concerns repeated boss types.

Beast of Reincarnation currently reuses some bosses without making major changes to their movesets. Future updates will revise the attack patterns of similar boss types to make repeat encounters more varied.

That could have a noticeable effect because the game's combat system mixes real time action with turn based elements.

Planned changeExpected effect
Revised boss attack patternsMore variety in repeated encounters
Difficulty above HardGreater challenge for experienced players
Harder New Game PlusBetter endgame difficulty scaling
Zone skipping in New Game PlusFaster progression through repeat runs
Skippable cutscenesAlready available in patch 1.0.12

The developers have not yet explained how extensively boss movesets will change, so it remains unclear whether the updates will introduce entirely new attacks or mainly adjust existing patterns.

Even smaller changes could help repeated encounters feel less predictable.

A difficulty above Hard is coming

Game Freak also plans to add a new difficulty setting beyond the current Hard mode.

The update should give experienced players a stronger challenge after learning the game's combat systems and character builds.

New Game Plus will receive its own higher difficulty as well.

That should make repeat playthroughs more demanding rather than simply allowing upgraded characters to move through familiar encounters with little resistance.

The exact balance changes have not yet been revealed.

Enemy damage, health, aggression and attack behavior could all potentially be adjusted, but the studio has not confirmed which parameters will change.

New Game Plus progression will become faster

Another planned improvement is aimed at players who do not want to repeat every early area during subsequent playthroughs.

After clearing the Great Wall Terraces Zone, New Game Plus players will eventually be able to skip the Pilgrim's Zone, Matsukawa Colony Zone and Fuji Frontier Zone.

This should reduce the amount of repeated progression needed before reaching later portions of the game.

The change is especially useful for players interested in experimenting with different builds or tackling the upcoming higher difficulty options without replaying the entire opening structure every time.

Patch 1.0.12 already improves quality of life

The newly released 1.0.12 update is smaller than the changes planned for later, but it addresses one commonly requested feature.

All cutscenes can now be skipped.

That improvement should make repeat playthroughs and New Game Plus runs considerably faster, particularly for players who are returning mainly for combat or build experimentation.

The studio says more improvements will follow as it continues responding to community feedback.

Combat depth remains the main focus

Beast of Reincarnation stands out because its combat combines action mechanics with turn based systems rather than following a conventional action RPG structure.

That gives the game considerable build variety, but repeated boss behavior can reduce the value of that depth when encounters begin to feel too familiar.

Reworking boss attack patterns could therefore matter more than simply increasing enemy health or damage.

If the new difficulty modes are paired with more varied enemy behavior, the result could make later playthroughs meaningfully different instead of just harder.

Game Freak has not provided a release date for these future changes.

For now, patch 1.0.12 improves replay convenience, while the larger roadmap points toward more challenging combat, stronger New Game Plus options and less repetition in boss encounters.
