American Truck Simulator Heads to Canada With British Columbia DLC

American Truck Simulator is preparing to leave the United States for the first time with its upcoming British Columbia DLC. The expansion will take drivers into Canada and add a new section of map connected to the northwestern side of the existing game world.

SCS Software has not confirmed a release date yet, but it has revealed several towns and communities that will appear in the DLC. The first confirmed locations stretch across southern British Columbia, from Vancouver Island to areas closer to the Alberta border.

British Columbia will expand American Truck Simulator beyond its original setting while keeping the same long distance driving focus. The province is known for mountain routes, forests, lakes, valleys, coastal roads, and smaller communities, making it a natural fit for the simulator’s slower and more scenic style.

Confirmed cities for the British Columbia DLC

SCS Software has confirmed several locations so far, although the full list has not been revealed. Vancouver is not part of the current announcement, but more cities and towns are expected before release.

The announced locations suggest the DLC will include a broad mix of environments rather than focusing on one city. Campbell River brings the map to Vancouver Island, while places such as Golden, Invermere, and Sparwood point toward mountain and interior routes.

The expansion should also connect naturally with existing American Truck Simulator states. SCS Software appears to be building routes that can link British Columbia with Washington, Idaho, and Montana, creating a larger northwestern driving network for players who already own those map expansions.

British Columbia could become one of the game’s most scenic map expansions

American Truck Simulator has gradually expanded far beyond its original California, Nevada, and Arizona map. Each new region has added different landscapes and industries, but British Columbia has the chance to bring a distinct type of driving experience.

The province has a varied geography that could make for memorable delivery routes. Drivers may move from coastal areas and ferry routes to forest roads, mountain passes, smaller industrial towns, and long highways surrounded by natural scenery.

That range should make the DLC especially appealing to players who enjoy relaxed exploration as much as cargo delivery. American Truck Simulator works best when the road itself feels interesting, and British Columbia has plenty of potential for that.

More map expansions are already planned

British Columbia is part of a wider expansion plan for American Truck Simulator. SCS Software has also announced South Dakota and Indiana as future DLC regions, continuing the game’s steady move across North America.

The studio is also working on Project Road Trip, a new feature that will introduce regular vehicles to the game. Early footage has shown a Ford F 150 pickup, which will be included in an upcoming Ford Car Pack DLC. That could give players another way to explore the expanded map outside traditional truck deliveries.

For now, British Columbia remains without a launch date. Still, the first list of confirmed locations gives a clear idea of where American Truck Simulator is heading next, and it marks an important step for the series as it finally crosses the Canadian border.
