AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 7 7800X3D have both fallen to their lowest prices in at least three months, giving PC gamers cheaper access to two of the company’s most popular X3D processors.
The older Ryzen 7 7800X3D is currently priced at $333.99, while the newer Ryzen 7 9800X3D has dropped to $414.99.
Both processors use AMD’s 3D V Cache technology, which adds a large amount of extra cache and can deliver strong gaming performance in titles that benefit from lower memory latency.

The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is 26% below its listed price and is only slightly above its lowest recorded sale price of $319.99.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 13% off and sits only a few dollars above its previous low of $409.95.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D remains a strong gaming option
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is based on AMD’s Zen 4 architecture and uses eight cores with 16 threads.
It can boost up to 5.0 GHz and carries 8 MB of L2 cache plus 96 MB of L3 cache for a combined 104 MB.
Its large 3D V Cache remains the main reason it performs so well in games.
Although it is no longer AMD’s newest gaming processor, the 7800X3D still offers strong value at its current price, particularly for builders who want an AM5 gaming system without paying more than $400 for the CPU.
The chip also benefits from AMD’s long term AM5 support strategy.

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D uses the newer Zen 5 architecture while retaining the same eight core and 16 thread configuration.
Its maximum boost frequency rises to 5.2 GHz, while total cache remains at 104 MB.
The newer architecture brings broader performance improvements beyond gaming, making the 9800X3D a more balanced option for buyers who also run productivity workloads.
It is also generally easier to recommend for a new premium gaming build if the extra cost over the 7800X3D fits the budget.
At $414.99, the difference between the two chips is about $81.
That makes the choice largely dependent on whether the newer architecture and extra performance are worth the added cost.
Ryzen 7 9800X3D bundle adds motherboard and cooler
A separate bundle pairs the Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an MSI Pro B850 S WiFi6E motherboard for $508.99.
The package also includes an MSI MAG CoreLiquid A13 liquid cooler as a promotional bonus.
For someone building a new AM5 system from scratch, that bundle could offer better overall value than purchasing the processor alone.
The motherboard provides a modern AM5 platform while the included cooler reduces the number of additional parts needed for the build.
Intel alternatives are also available
Intel’s refreshed Arrow Lake processors remain another option in the same broad price range.
The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus is priced at $299, while the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is available for $209.99 after a coupon.
These processors use a different platform and do not offer AMD’s 3D V Cache design, but they provide alternative options for buyers who prefer Intel or want stronger value in mixed workloads.
For gaming focused systems, however, the current Ryzen X3D discounts are notable because both chips are close to their lowest prices of the year.
The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the better choice if you want to keep CPU spending lower, while the Ryzen 7 9800X3D offers newer Zen 5 hardware and stronger overall performance for a higher price.
