AMD's Ryzen 7 5800X3D has received a significant discount in the United States, bringing the processor down to $279.99 at Micro Center. The new price represents its lowest level since the chip returned to the market earlier in 2026.
The processor was relaunched at $349, making the latest offer approximately $70 cheaper than its original asking price.
For PC gamers already using AMD's AM4 platform, the discount offers an opportunity to improve gaming performance without replacing their motherboard or moving to more expensive DDR5 memory.
Newegg is also offering a separate promotion that combines the processor with a free 850W power supply.
Ryzen 7 5800X3D Gets Its Biggest Discount Since Relaunch
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D remains one of AMD's most capable gaming processors for the AM4 platform.
It features eight cores, 16 threads and 96MB of L3 cache, using AMD's 3D V-Cache technology to improve performance in games that benefit from additional cache capacity.
The processor also supports boost frequencies of up to 4.5GHz.
Micro Center currently lists the 10th Anniversary Edition at $279.99, compared with its regular $349 price.
However, the offer is restricted to in-store pickup, meaning customers must visit a participating Micro Center location to purchase it at the discounted price.
Newegg Offers a Free 850W Power Supply With Ryzen 7 5800X3D
Newegg has introduced another promotion ahead of Black Friday, reducing the processor's price to approximately $319.
The retailer is also including an ASRock PRO Series 850B ATX 3.1 power supply, normally valued at around $84, at no additional cost.
Here is how the two offers compare:
| Retailer | Processor price | Additional benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Micro Center | $279.99 | Approximately $70 discount |
| Newegg | $319 | Free 850W power supply |
The Newegg bundle offers greater overall value if you also need a new power supply, although its effective savings depend on whether that component is useful for your build.
AM4 Owners Can Upgrade Without Replacing Their Platform
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is particularly attractive for gamers using older Ryzen processors on compatible AM4 motherboards.
Its additional cache can improve gaming performance without requiring a complete platform replacement.
However, buyers should check motherboard BIOS compatibility before upgrading.
The processor also does not include a CPU cooler, so an existing compatible cooling solution or a separate cooler is required.
Both promotions are limited-time offers, and prices or availability may change.
For existing AM4 gaming PCs, the discounts make the Ryzen 7 5800X3D a more affordable alternative to purchasing a new motherboard, processor and memory.
