AMD appears to be preparing another RDNA 4 graphics card, and it may become the slowest model in the Radeon RX 9000 lineup so far.
The rumored card is the Radeon RX 9050. According to leaked specs reported by VideoCardz, the GPU uses 2,048 stream processors, which is the same shader count as the Radeon RX 9060 XT. That suggests AMD may be using the same Navi 44 XT die found in the RX 9060 XT.
The strange part is that the rest of the card looks much more limited.
The RX 9050 reportedly comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128 bit bus. Memory speed is listed at 18Gbps, giving it 288GB/s of bandwidth. That is lower than the RX 9060 XT, which reaches 320GB/s.
Clock speeds are also lower. The RX 9050 is listed with a game clock up to 1,920MHz and a boost clock up to 2,600MHz. That puts it below the RX 9060 series, even though the shader count looks closer to the XT model.
Here is the rumored spec picture:
| GPU | Radeon RX 9050 |
|---|---|
| Architecture | RDNA 4 |
| GPU die | Navi 44 XT |
| Stream processors | 2,048 |
| VRAM | 8GB GDDR6 |
| Memory bus | 128 bit |
| Memory speed | 18Gbps |
| Bandwidth | 288GB/s |
| Game clock | Up to 1,920MHz |
| Boost clock | Up to 2,600MHz |
| Display outputs | 1 HDMI 2.1b, 2 DisplayPort 2.1a |
| Recommended PSU | 450W |
The result is a confusing card on paper. The RX 9050 may have more shaders than the RX 9060, but its lower clocks and weaker memory setup could make it slower overall. It looks like AMD is trying to create a cheaper entry level RDNA 4 card by reusing the stronger die but limiting memory and frequency.

The 8GB VRAM limit may also be a concern. Many newer games are already pushing past 8GB at higher settings, especially at 1440p or with ray tracing enabled. That makes the RX 9050 more likely to target 1080p gaming and budget builds.
AMD’s global RX 9000 lineup is still fairly small. Outside China, the main models are the RX 9070 XT, RX 9070, RX 9060 XT 16GB, and RX 9060 XT 8GB. The RX 9050 would give AMD a lower cost option below those cards.
Pricing will decide whether this makes sense. If AMD prices it aggressively, the RX 9050 could be useful for entry level systems. If it lands too close to the RX 9060 XT 8GB, the lower clocks and weaker memory bandwidth may make it hard to recommend.
For now, the Radeon RX 9050 is still only a leak. But if the specs are accurate, AMD’s next RDNA 4 card looks less like a major new GPU and more like a carefully limited budget model built from familiar hardware.
