The Microsoft Store version of the game becomes available on September 17, 2026. Once claimed, the code lets you keep the game rather than providing temporary access tied to the monthly promotion.
This is a notable addition because Amazon's monthly PC giveaways more commonly provide codes for stores such as GOG, Epic Games Store and Amazon Games. Microsoft Store codes appear less frequently.

DOOM Eternal joins Amazon's September free game lineup
DOOM Eternal originally launched in 2020 and serves as the second entry in id Software's modern DOOM trilogy.
The game builds on the fast combat of DOOM from 2016 with larger arenas, more movement options and a stronger emphasis on managing ammunition, armor and health during fights.
Its combat encourages constant movement as you switch weapons, perform Glory Kills and use equipment to recover resources while facing increasingly aggressive groups of demons.
For Prime subscribers who have not played it yet, the September offer provides a permanent PC copy through the Microsoft Store.
The code will be available from September 17
