Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 brings four player Xenomorph co op to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 has been officially revealed, and it is bringing the co op Xenomorph shooting back in summer 2026.

The sequel is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It follows the 2021 original, but this time Cold Iron Studios is aiming for a bigger and more flexible co op experience.

You play as Colonial Marines sent into dangerous missions against waves of Xenomorphs. Survival will depend on teamwork, class choice, weapon loadouts, and knowing how to handle different enemy types before the swarm overwhelms your squad.

The biggest change is four player co op. The first game used three player teams, but the sequel expands the squad size and adds full cross play support across all platforms. That should make it easier to play with friends and give missions a more chaotic Aliens style feel.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is also adding new character classes. One confirmed class is the Specialist, which can mix abilities from other classes. That should let players build a more flexible Marine instead of being locked into one narrow role.

The enemy lineup is also growing. The sequel will include new Xenomorph types, including larger threats that look far more dangerous than the standard bugs. Players will also fight rogue machines and androids tied to Weyland Yutani, so Xenomorphs will not be the only danger.

A Horde Mode will be available at launch too. In that mode, teams fight endless waves of enemies and earn better rewards depending on how long they survive.

The first Aliens: Fireteam Elite had strong co op action, class customization, and plenty of Alien fan service, but it was held back by budget limits and the smaller three player structure. The sequel already appears to be addressing those complaints with better visuals, larger squads, new threats, and broader cross platform support.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 still needs to prove that it has stronger mission variety and deeper long term progression, but the reveal points in the right direction. A four player bug hunt with smarter enemies, bigger battles, and more build options could make this sequel a much stronger fit for the Alien universe.
