Acer Nitro 65 Delivers Strong Gaming Performance Without the Usual Pre Built Compromises

Acer’s Nitro 65 is one of the more convincing pre built gaming desktops in its price range, offering strong hardware, clean internal assembly, and a case that does not feel like an afterthought. It is not perfect, but it avoids many of the problems that often make large brand gaming PCs difficult to recommend.

The reviewed model combines an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. That configuration is built for high settings gaming, demanding creative work, and multitasking without needing immediate upgrades.

At roughly $2,300 before sales, the Nitro 65 is priced close to what it would cost to build a similar system from individual parts. That matters because many pre built PCs charge a large premium while using weaker components, proprietary motherboards, poor cooling, or limited upgrade options. Acer has avoided most of those shortcuts here.

Standard parts make the Nitro 65 easier to upgrade later

One of the strongest points of the Nitro 65 is that it uses mostly regular desktop components. The motherboard, memory, graphics card, storage drive, and case layout are all designed in a way that should make future repairs or upgrades easier.

The system includes Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 memory, a Gigabyte WindForce RTX 5070 graphics card, and a Lexar PCIe 4.0 SSD. These are familiar parts rather than difficult to replace custom versions.

The main concern is the power supply. Acer includes an 850W 80 Plus Gold unit, which provides enough power for the installed hardware, but it is non modular and does not come from a widely recognised retail brand. It should work well enough out of the box, though it may be the first component worth replacing after the warranty period.

The case and cooling are better than expected

The Nitro 65 uses a custom 35 litre case with rounded tempered glass panels, RGB lighting, multiple intake fans, and removable dust filters. The design gives the system a more premium appearance than many similarly priced gaming towers.

Cable management is also above average. Most visible cables are routed properly and do not block airflow. The rear compartment is not perfect because of the non modular power supply, but it remains tidy enough for a pre built system.

Cooling performance is solid. In stress testing, the CPU stayed around the low to mid 60 degree Celsius range while the graphics card remained close to 70 degrees Celsius. Those temperatures are normal for a gaming desktop with air cooling.

The CPU cooler can become louder under heavier workloads, and an all in one liquid cooler would have been a welcome option. Still, the current cooling setup appears capable for standard gaming and productivity workloads.

A good option for players who do not want to build

The Acer Nitro 65 is not aimed at people who enjoy selecting every part themselves. Building your own desktop can still save money or allow better part choices, especially for the power supply and cooling.

However, for anyone who wants a ready to use gaming PC with strong performance, clean assembly, upgrade friendly components, and a good looking case, the Nitro 65 is a solid choice. It proves that a pre built system does not have to feel disposable or heavily restricted.
