Microsoft has confirmed the release date, price and preorder details for the Xbox Series X25, its limited edition console created for Xbox's 25th anniversary.
The Xbox Series X25 will launch on November 13, 2026, priced at $899.99 in the US and £759.99 in the UK. The console includes the matching X25 controller and a copy of Halo: Campaign Evolved as part of the package.
Preorders opened on August 27 through Microsoft's Xbox store and participating retailers. Some selected Xbox customers received earlier access through email invitations before wider sales began.

Xbox Series X25 includes Halo: Campaign Evolved
The Xbox Series X25 bundle includes the anniversary controller and Halo: Campaign Evolved at no additional cost.
Microsoft is positioning the console as a commemorative product rather than a new generation of hardware. Its appeal is primarily tied to the special 25th anniversary design and its limited availability.
The $899.99 price places it significantly above a standard Series X, making it a product aimed more toward collectors and dedicated Xbox fans than buyers simply looking for the lowest cost way to access the platform.
Microsoft has also limited preorders to one Xbox 25th anniversary collection per customer.
Selected Xbox customers received early preorder access
Microsoft tried to give some long term Xbox customers a better chance of securing the limited console before general sales opened.
Selected customers were invited by email to preorder the collection early. Wider preorders then became available in supported markets on August 27.
Microsoft did not publicly disclose the exact criteria used to determine who qualified for an early invitation.
That approach was intended to reduce some of the pressure created by scalpers and high demand, although limited edition hardware can still sell out quickly once general availability begins.
Preorders are now live, according to the latest update to the announcement.
X25 controller launches separately in October
You do not need to buy the full console bundle to get the anniversary controller.
The Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition will launch separately on October 20, 2026.
It costs $79.99 in the US, £74.99 in the UK and €79.99 in supported European markets.

This provides a cheaper way to own part of the anniversary collection without paying for another Series X console.
The standalone controller also arrives several weeks before the console itself, which launches on November 13.
The $899.99 price is the main barrier
The Xbox Series X25 is likely to attract attention because of its anniversary design, but the price is difficult to ignore.
At $899.99, the system costs considerably more than a standard current generation Xbox console, even though Microsoft is not presenting it as a major hardware upgrade.
The inclusion of Halo: Campaign Evolved and the special controller adds some value, but the bundle remains primarily a collector focused release.
Microsoft is also warning that availability will vary by region and stock will be limited.
For buyers who already own an Xbox Series X, the standalone X25 controller is likely to be the more practical anniversary purchase. For collectors, the full Series X25 bundle offers the complete 25th anniversary package when it launches on November 13.
