That incident contained more information overall, but the Series S leak remains notable because it happened immediately before Microsoft intended to reveal a finished console that was only two months away from release.
Six years later, the Series S launch is also a reminder of how quickly a carefully planned hardware announcement can change once confidential information reaches the public.
