Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Godzilla Escape Track and Three New Vehicles in Year 2 DLC

Sega has released a new Godzilla themed expansion for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, introducing a racing course, three vehicles and an additional Boost type as part of the game's first Year 2 DLC pack.

The expansion became available on November 5, 2026, for players who own Season Pass 2, bringing the famous Japanese monster into the arcade racing game.

The update introduces Godzilla Escape, a new course set in City Escape, where players must race through the environment while avoiding Godzilla's destructive movements.

The content arrives alongside the game's first major Year 2 update, which introduces additional changes to the racing experience.

Godzilla Escape Brings a New Challenge to City Escape

The main addition is Godzilla Escape, a racing course that reimagines the familiar City Escape setting with a giant monster threatening the surrounding environment.

Players must navigate the course while Godzilla moves through the city, creating additional obstacles during races.

The new setting builds on the game's existing racing mechanics by introducing environmental hazards connected to the monster's presence.

Rather than simply featuring Godzilla as a background character, the course incorporates his movements into the racing experience.

The expansion also includes three new vehicles inspired by characters from the Godzilla franchise.

Each vehicle features a design based on a recognizable monster, giving players additional customization options.

The new vehicles are:

  • Godzilla Cruiser
  • Mothra Surf
  • King Ghidorah Coupe

The King Ghidorah Coupe features distinctive dragon themed styling, while the Godzilla Cruiser and Mothra Surf offer alternative designs inspired by their respective creatures.

The DLC trailer also introduces a new Boost type, although further details about its mechanics have not been provided.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Begins Its Second Year of Content

The Godzilla expansion marks the beginning of another year of downloadable content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.

Sega has been expanding the game with additional racing content, including themed vehicles, new courses and gameplay adjustments.

The latest DLC follows the release of a Year 2 update that introduces further changes to the game.

However, the announcement does not provide a separate purchase price for the Godzilla pack or confirm whether it will become available outside Season Pass 2.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available across several platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.

The Godzilla expansion adds another crossover to the racing game, combining its existing arcade racing mechanics with characters and environments inspired by the monster franchise.

Players who already own Season Pass 2 can access the new content starting November 5, 2026.
