Samsung's 40-inch Odyssey G7 G75F is listed at $675.07 at Amazon, with Amazon.com itself in the buy box. The listing carries a 32 percent badge against a $999.99 list price, but Samsung's own store sells the same monitor for $699.99 at the time of writing.

So the saving worth quoting is $24.92, not the $324.92 the badge implies. The price is not gated behind Prime, and the page shows no second, higher open price.
The panel itself is the unusual part. Samsung says this is a 40-inch curved VA screen running 5,120 x 2,160 at up to 180Hz, a 21:9 shape it brands WUHD and most people call 5K2K.
That matters because very little at this size and resolution sells anywhere near $675. The two closest alternatives on Amazon cost $999.99 and $1,399.99.
The $999.99 list price is not a price anyone charges
Amazon's own explainer says a list price only has to have been offered at or above that figure in the past 90 days. Samsung publishes $999.99 as the manufacturer's suggested price and then sells the monitor for $699.99 on its US product page.
Against that live figure, Amazon is cheaper by $24.92. Samsung has the monitor in stock, so the comparison is a real one rather than a sold-out placeholder.
The buy box matters here too. Amazon is the seller and the shipper, which is not true of every 40-inch ultrawide on the site.

A 40-inch desktop panel is mostly a question of desk depth
Samsung's spec sheet puts the active image area at 926.8 x 391.0mm, or 36.49 x 15.39 inches. Spread 5,120 pixels across that width and the result is 140 pixels per inch.
That is almost exactly the density of a 32-inch 4K monitor, and well above the 109 PPI of a 27-inch 1440p screen. Text will look sharp, and most people will want Windows scaling at 125 or 150 percent rather than 100.
The 1000R curve is struck on a 1,000mm radius, which places the arc's centre about 39 inches from the screen. Sitting much closer than that and the far edges start to swing away from a comfortable sightline.
The hardware is 36.5 inches wide, 23.5 inches tall and 11.9 inches deep on its stand, at 24.9 pounds. Shallow desks are the real constraint, not the diagonal, and a 43.8-inch 5,760 x 2,160 ultrawide only makes that worse.
How the price compares with three other big panels
| Monitor | Panel | Price | Buy box |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung 40-inch Odyssey G7 G75F | 40-inch VA, 5,120 x 2,160, 180Hz | $675.07 | Amazon.com |
| Samsung 37-inch Odyssey G7 G75F | 37-inch, 4K UHD 16:9, 165Hz | $479.99 | Amazon.com |
| Samsung 40-inch ViewFinity S8 S85TH | 40-inch, 5,120 x 2,160, Thunderbolt 5 | $999.99 | Amazon.com |
| LG 40WP95C-W | 40-inch Nano IPS, 5,120 x 2,160 | $1,399.99 | Beach Camera Same Day Shipping |
The 37-inch Odyssey G7 at $479.99 is the cheap way into the same family, and Digital Citizen covered it when it fell to $599.99 in July. It is 16:9 rather than 21:9, so it trades width for $195.
The 40-inch ViewFinity S8 at $999.99 has the same resolution and adds Thunderbolt 5 with up to 140W charging, according to its listing. The LG 40WP95C-W at $1,399.99 is a Nano IPS alternative, but its buy box is held by the marketplace seller Beach Camera Same Day Shipping rather than Amazon.
For comparison, the Odyssey QD-OLED G8 at $699.99 buys a faster 4K panel on a smaller 16:9 frame. The 49-inch Odyssey G9 at $649.99 goes wider still, at a lower vertical resolution.
What the listing leaves out
The Amazon bullets never name the panel technology, and they skip brightness, contrast and colour coverage entirely. Those figures come from Samsung's spec sheet, not the store page.
Neither source says which port carries 5,120 x 2,160 at 180Hz. Samsung lists two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one DisplayPort 1.4 input without publishing a per-port maximum, so anyone planning a specific cable run is guessing.
Samsung also does not publish a peak HDR brightness figure, which is a gap worth noting on a DisplayHDR 600 panel. Prices were checked on October 5, 2026, and both Amazon and Samsung can change them without notice.
