Samsung's 25-inch Odyssey G4 G40H is $199.99 at Amazon, and the listing attaches a condition to that number. Amazon states the price "is exclusively for Amazon Prime members", and the same page shows a regular price of $257.36 for everyone else.
The panel is a flat 25-inch IPS running 1920 by 1080 at up to 300Hz, rated at 1ms gray to gray, with HDR10, G-Sync compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium. That combination is cheap to drive, so a mid-range graphics card can sit near the refresh ceiling in competitive shooters.
Three prices sit on the same listing
Amazon stacks three offers in the buy box. The open one is the $199.99 Prime price, shipped and sold by Amazon.com, and it carries the membership line directly beneath it.
Below it sits a row captioned "Regular Price" at $257.36, also sold by Amazon.com. A third row, "Used - Very Good", is listed at $178.69 from Amazon Resale, which is a different condition and a different transaction.
The discount badge reads 13% off a struck-through $229.99, a figure Amazon labels a "typical price" rather than a list price. Measured that way the saving is $30.00.
However, the same page puts the regular price $27.37 above that anchor. Both numbers are Amazon's own, and the gap is worth knowing before clicking through without a membership.
Samsung is not undercutting either figure. Samsung's US store does not stock the 25-inch G40H at all, and its 27-inch version of the same monitor sits at $299.99.

Samsung rates brightness at 300 cd/m2 and static contrast at 1,000:1, which are ordinary numbers for a budget IPS panel. HDR10 is accepted as a signal format here, and Samsung claims no VESA DisplayHDR certification for this model.
Why the 300Hz figure depends on the cable
Samsung's spec table lists the refresh ceiling as "DisplayPort Max 300 Hz / HDMI Max 240 Hz". The single DisplayPort 1.2 input is therefore the only way to reach the rate the listing advertises.
Amazon's bullets never mention that split. They say "300Hz REFRESH RATE & 1ms RESPONSE TIME" and leave the port question alone, along with the ports themselves.
The 1ms claim is gray to gray, and Samsung footnotes it as an average that falls between 1.00ms and 1.99ms. That is a milder promise than the flat 1ms on the listing, though it still lands ahead of the 4ms and 5ms ratings common on office IPS panels.
The stand is the quiet win at this price. Samsung gives it 105mm of height travel, tilt from -3 to 25 degrees, swivel across 90 degrees and a full pivot into portrait, plus a 100 x 100 VESA mount.
How it compares with other Amazon monitor deals
The nearest Samsung rung down is the 24-inch Odyssey G3 G30H at $139.99, which trades 100Hz of refresh for $60 and carries no membership condition. Digital Citizen also covered the 27-inch Odyssey G3 at $169.99 this week.

The Dell SE2426H at $89.99 is the budget floor, but it runs 144Hz, tilts only and has no DisplayPort. Spending up instead buys the Acer Predator X27U W1 at $314.99, a 1440p QD-OLED panel whose contrast is in another class.
For higher refresh at a larger size, the Odyssey G6 G60F runs 350Hz at 1440p, and the Alienware 27-inch 280Hz QHD panel reached $199.99 recently. Both sit above the G40H on resolution.
Some details stay unpublished. Amazon's listing gives no brightness, no contrast figure, no color coverage and no port list.
Samsung has no US page for the 25-inch model either. The specs above come from its South African and Australian sheets for the same panel.
Amazon also shows no end date on the discount, and the listing carries only 35 ratings so far. Prices at the time of writing are as of September 28, 2026, and this one has already moved once in two days.
