PlayStation State of Play on June 2 will bring a longer showcase led by Marvel’s Wolverine

Sony is preparing a major PlayStation State of Play for June 2, 2026, and this one looks larger than the usual update stream. The company has confirmed a showcase running for more than 60 minutes, with Marvel’s Wolverine set to be one of the main highlights. The broadcast will go live at 2 PM PT, 5 PM ET, 10 PM BST, and 11 PM CEST.

The timing makes the event important for PlayStation’s summer plans. Sony has had a quieter start to the year in terms of new game announcements, so this State of Play is expected to give players a clearer look at what is coming next from PlayStation studios and outside partners.

Marvel’s Wolverine is confirmed, but Sony may have more first party games ready to show

Marvel’s Wolverine is the only game officially confirmed for the presentation. The game is being developed by Insomniac Games and is currently planned for a September 15, 2026 release. The showcase is expected to offer a deeper look at gameplay, combat, and the darker tone Insomniac is building around the character.

The event could also include more first party updates. Reports and expectations mentioned in the reference point to possible appearances from Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a rumored God of War spin off focused on Faye, Haven’s Fairgame$, and Guerrilla’s Horizon Hunters Gathering. None of those are confirmed for the event, so they should be treated as possible reveals rather than guaranteed announcements.

A new look at Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls also appears likely because the game is expected to launch on August 6. Third party announcements are harder to predict, though the report mentions possibilities such as Resident Evil Requiem story DLC and a Resident Evil Code Veronica remake.

Sony will stream the presentation through the official PlayStation YouTube and Twitch channels. The event will also be shown in select Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Francisco.

The confirmed runtime already makes this a notable State of Play. Theater listings suggest the full presentation could run closer to 90 minutes, though Sony has only confirmed more than an hour. If that longer estimate is accurate, this could be one of the biggest State of Play broadcasts Sony has held.

For now, Marvel’s Wolverine is the main reason to watch. Still, the length of the showcase suggests Sony may be preparing more than one major update. Whether those updates include new exclusives, third party reveals, or deeper looks at known games, this State of Play should give PlayStation players a much clearer view of the months ahead.
