Nvidia GeForce NOW Adds 26 Games in August, Including Big Walk, The Sinking City 2, and Mortal Shell II

Nvidia has revealed 26 games joining GeForce NOW during August 2026, with the lineup covering new releases, Game Pass titles, and several existing PC games.

The cloud gaming service is adding titles such as Big Walk, The Sinking City 2, Mortal Shell II, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, and High on Life 2 during the month.

Nvidia is also bringing GeForce NOW to QuakeCon, where it plans to demonstrate its RTX 5080 powered cloud gaming tier. The company says players will be able to try supported games streamed at up to 5K resolution and 120 FPS on ultrawide displays.

Eight games are joining the service first.

The remaining titles add a mix of adventure, multiplayer, and strategy experiences.

More games are planned throughout August

Nvidia has also confirmed a larger set of games for the rest of the month.

Nvidia may add more games during the month beyond the announced list, as GeForce NOW often receives additional weekly additions.

Several Game Pass titles are included

Some of the August additions can be accessed through PC Game Pass rather than through a separate purchase.

Sandustry, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, and High on Life 2 are among the titles listed with Game Pass support.

Resonance: A Plague Tale LegacyYes
High on Life 2Yes

This does not mean GeForce NOW itself includes those games.

You still need a valid game license through a supported PC store or an active PC Game Pass entitlement for compatible titles.

GeForce NOW is not a traditional game library subscription

GeForce NOW works differently from services such as Xbox Game Pass.

The subscription pays for access to Nvidia’s cloud hardware and streaming infrastructure, not for a bundled catalog of games that can all be played automatically.

You need to own the supported PC version of a game or have access to it through an eligible service such as PC Game Pass.

Service modelGeForce NOW
Game ownership includedNo
Cloud hardware accessYes
Supported store librariesYes
PC Game Pass supportAvailable for selected games
Monthly playtime limitsYes, depending on plan

This distinction is important because a game appearing on the GeForce NOW compatibility list does not make it free.

You must still connect a supported account with the appropriate license.

QuakeCon will showcase RTX 5080 cloud performance

Nvidia is also using QuakeCon to demonstrate its higher-end GeForce NOW hardware.

The company plans to show cloud gaming powered by GeForce RTX 5080 class infrastructure, with supported games running at up to 5K resolution and 120 FPS on ultrawide displays.

Actual streaming quality will still depend on connection speed, latency, membership tier, supported game settings, and display hardware.

The demonstrations are intended to show how close cloud gaming can get to a high-end local PC experience when bandwidth and latency are favourable.

August brings a strong mix of new releases

The August lineup is notable because many games are joining GeForce NOW close to their launch dates.

The Sinking City 2, Mortal Shell II, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy are all scheduled to arrive during the same month as their PC releases.

That gives subscribers the option to stream demanding new games without relying entirely on local graphics hardware.

At the same time, existing titles such as High on Life, Paradise Killer, and World of Warships: Legends broaden the catalog for players looking for older or already established games.

With 26 confirmed additions and the possibility of more surprise releases, August is shaping up to be a busy month for GeForce NOW. The main limitation remains the same: you still need to own or otherwise have access to each supported game before Nvidia’s cloud servers can stream it.
