NVIDIA has released its GeForce Game Ready 616.92 driver with support for three upcoming games, new DLSS features for 007 First Light and PUBG: Battlegrounds, and several fixes carried over from a recent hotfix release.
The driver adds Game Ready support for WARDOGS, Active Matter, and Aniimo. All three games are expected to launch with DLSS 4.5 support, while the update also prepares GeForce systems for new graphics features arriving in other titles during September.
Three new games get Game Ready support
The 616.92 driver is designed for upcoming releases scheduled across September 10 to September 16.
| Game | Release date | NVIDIA feature |
|---|---|---|
| WARDOGS | September 10 | DLSS 4.5 |
| Active Matter | September 15 | DLSS 4.5 |
| Aniimo | September 16 | DLSS 4.5 |
| 007 First Light | Path tracing update September 15 | DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction |
| PUBG: Battlegrounds | DLSS update September 10 | DLSS Super Resolution |
WARDOGS arrives first on September 10, followed by Active Matter on September 15 and Aniimo on September 16.
The new driver is intended to provide suitable compatibility and performance support for those releases, although actual results will depend on individual hardware, game settings, and later game updates.
007 First Light gets path tracing support
007 First Light is receiving a path tracing update on September 15.
The update will also add support for NVIDIA's DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction technology. NVIDIA says the combination is designed to improve lighting, shadows, and reflections when ray traced effects are enabled.
Path tracing is typically more demanding than conventional rasterized rendering or more limited ray tracing implementations, so DLSS and frame generation technologies are expected to play an important role in maintaining performance on supported GPUs.
PUBG finally adds DLSS Super Resolution
PUBG: Battlegrounds is also receiving DLSS Super Resolution support on September 10.
Players will be able to use NVIDIA's upscaling technology to improve frame rates while rendering the game internally at a lower resolution.
NVIDIA also says newer DLSS 4.5 models can be applied through the NVIDIA App's DLSS override feature. This allows supported games to use updated DLSS models without waiting for developers to integrate every model change directly.
Driver fixes address display and Remote Desktop problems
The 616.92 release includes three notable fixes that had previously required a separate hotfix.
The driver corrects intermittent browser flickering that could occur when visiting certain websites. It also fixes a problem that prevented virtual displays from being created after installing driver 616.56.

A separate Remote Desktop issue has also been resolved. Some systems could show a black screen during Remote Desktop Protocol sessions after upgrading to 616.56.
Several known issues remain under investigation.
The Prefer Maximum Performance power management setting may not always apply correctly. Assassin's Creed Shadows can also crash after extended gameplay on some systems running drivers based on 616.56.
NVIDIA is additionally investigating launch failures affecting Judgment, Lost Judgment, and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.
The GeForce Game Ready 616.92 driver is available through the NVIDIA App and as a standalone driver package.
