Snapdragon X2 Elite Powers the Surface Laptop 8
The Surface Laptop 8 uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon X2 Elite processor, designed to deliver strong productivity performance while maintaining power efficiency.
The processor is paired with a neural processing unit capable of 80 TOPS, enabling supported AI features and applications to run locally.
Microsoft also includes a 13.8-inch LCD touchscreen with up to 600 nits of brightness, making the display suitable for use in brighter environments.

Storage Can Be Upgraded, but RAM Is Soldered
Buyers should consider the laptop's upgrade limitations before purchasing.
The 16GB RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded later.
However, the SSD is replaceable, allowing owners to install larger storage options, including 1TB or 2TB drives.
Gaming is another consideration. While the Snapdragon X2 Elite supports everyday productivity applications, its integrated graphics and ARM architecture may limit compatibility with demanding games and certain anti-cheat systems.
The laptop is better suited to office work, studying, browsing, and general productivity.
Should You Buy Before Black Friday?
At $1,249.99, the Surface Laptop 8 offers a substantial reduction from its regular price.
However, Black Friday could bring additional discounts, and there is no guarantee that the current offer will remain available.
Buyers who need a productivity laptop immediately may find the deal worthwhile, while those without an urgent requirement can compare upcoming promotions before deciding.
