Microsoft Rewards players have started voting on the changes they most want to see through the program’s new Feedback Portal, with Xbox Game Pass redemptions, achievement based rewards, and the removal of cooldowns among the leading requests after the first week.
The portal gives members a dedicated place to submit suggestions and support ideas posted by others. It follows a similar approach to Xbox Player Voice, where community proposals are ranked through public voting.
The early results show that many participants want Microsoft Rewards to become more closely connected with Xbox. Several of the most popular requests involve Game Pass, achievements, account history, and older features that were previously reduced or removed.
The rankings are still likely to change. Some requests have received only a few dozen votes, while the leading entries have attracted much more attention. Even so, the first list provides a useful picture of the main concerns surrounding Microsoft Rewards in 2026.
Xbox Game Pass redemptions lead the most requested changes
The most popular request asks Microsoft to restore the ability to redeem Rewards points directly for Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.
Game Pass memberships were previously an important redemption option for many Xbox players. Removing or limiting those rewards reduced the program’s value for people who regularly used points to lower the cost of their subscriptions.
Players also want the return of Xbox Game Pass Quests. These challenges rewarded points for playing selected games, completing activities, or reaching specific goals. They gave subscribers another reason to explore the Game Pass catalogue while creating a stronger connection between gaming and the Rewards program.
| Rank | Microsoft Rewards request |
|---|---|
| 1 | Redeem Rewards points for Xbox Game Pass subscriptions |
| 2 | Reward full game completions or rare achievements |
| 3 | Add commemorative Rewards badges to Xbox profiles |
| 4 | Restore better value gift card redemptions |
| 5 | Bring back Xbox Game Pass Quests |
| 6 | Remove cooldowns and other restrictions |
| 7 | Convert Xbox achievements into Rewards points |
| 8 | Improve Microsoft Rewards support in India |
| 9 | Add a long term points earning history |
| 10 | Restore the previous 90 daily search points system |
The requests show that members want both higher value redemptions and clearer ways to earn points. Many of the suggestions focus on features that previously existed in some form rather than entirely new ideas.
Achievement based rewards could create serious problems
Two of the leading suggestions involve Xbox achievements. One asks Microsoft to reward rare achievements or full game completions, while another proposes converting achievements directly into Rewards points.

The idea has obvious appeal. Players could earn something of monetary value by completing games or overcoming difficult challenges. Rare achievements could also encourage people to explore games more thoroughly.
However, a direct conversion system would be difficult to protect from exploitation. The Xbox Store contains many inexpensive games designed around extremely quick achievement completions. Some titles add another 1,000 Gamerscore through simple updates every six months.
If every achievement awarded Rewards points, players could purchase low cost games mainly to generate gift cards or subscription credit. Developers might also design releases specifically around farming points.
A more controlled system could focus on selected challenges, verified rare achievements, or monthly completion targets. Microsoft would still need safeguards to prevent regional abuse, automated play, and games created mainly to manipulate the system.
Commemorative badges would be easier to introduce. These could recognize long term participation, major point milestones, completed streaks, or special Xbox events without attaching direct financial value.
Cooldowns and account restrictions remain a major source of frustration
The request to remove cooldowns and restrictions reflects wider dissatisfaction with recent changes to Microsoft Rewards.
Cooldowns can limit how quickly members earn points through searches. Accounts may also face temporary restrictions, verification requirements, or suspensions when Microsoft detects activity that appears unusual.
These systems are intended to prevent automation, multiple account abuse, and other forms of fraud. However, legitimate members sometimes report being affected without receiving a clear explanation.
The most useful improvement may be greater transparency rather than the removal of every restriction. Microsoft could show why a cooldown was applied, how long it will last, and what activity triggered it.
Clearer appeals and better account support would also help members distinguish between a temporary earning limit and a permanent enforcement action.
Players in India want a more complete Rewards experience
Improving Microsoft Rewards in India has entered the top 10 requests, showing that regional differences remain an important concern.
The program does not offer the same activities, redemption options, point values, or promotional campaigns in every market. Members in supported regions may still receive fewer opportunities than players in the United States or United Kingdom.
Better support in India could include more Xbox gift card options, improved local redemptions, additional daily activities, consistent search rewards, and clearer information about regional availability.
Microsoft has a large Windows, Xbox, and Edge audience in India, making the market an important area for the program’s future growth. A Rewards system with limited local value may struggle to keep members engaged even when they use Microsoft products regularly.
Members also want better tracking and older search rewards restored
Another popular proposal asks for a detailed earning history covering several months or years. The current dashboard does not always make it easy to understand where points came from or how earning patterns have changed over time.
A complete history could show searches, purchases, quizzes, gaming activities, redemptions, expired points, and adjustments. It would also help members identify missing rewards or unexplained balance changes.
The request to restore the old 90 daily search points system reflects frustration with reduced earning opportunities. Search rewards have been changed repeatedly, with point limits, cooldowns, and activity requirements varying by region and account.
Restoring the old system would make daily earnings more predictable, although Microsoft may be reluctant to reverse changes introduced to control costs and abuse.
The Feedback Portal does not guarantee that any proposal will be implemented. Microsoft can review the votes, respond to selected requests, or leave them unchanged.
Still, the first week shows clear priorities. Members want Game Pass redemptions restored, fewer restrictions, better regional treatment, clearer account records, and more meaningful connections between Xbox activity and Microsoft Rewards.
