JSAUX has opened orders for both of its Steam Machine display faceplates, and its own store now marks them in stock rather than as preorders. The E-Ink Faceplate is listed at $99.99 and the Pixel Matrix Faceplate at $89.99, checked on September 26, 2026.
The maker sets out fulfilment in a single line on the product page: "Orders ship in order. First batch: early October. Second batch: mid-October." No calendar day is attached to either batch.
The panels themselves are not new, since JSAUX detailed the e-ink and dot-matrix designs earlier this month. What changed is that the prices are now final, the stock status is live, and the spec sheet is complete.
Prices, stock status and shipping costs
Both variants carry an in-stock marker in JSAUX's own product data, with the listed prices valid until October 6, 2026. JSAUX also lists the international caveats: duties are not calculated at checkout, and a $3 EU customs duty may apply.
JSAUX states that "the current processing time for all orders takes 2-4 days," and that orders are not processed on weekends. Standard delivery is quoted at 7 to 12 business days.
Shipping is free on orders above $50, so both faceplates clear that line on their own. Orders under $49.99 are charged $6.99.
E-Ink and Pixel Matrix specifications side by side
These are two genuinely different products at similar prices. One is a battery-powered wireless panel, the other a wired matrix that draws power continuously.

Neither panel calls for opening the console, unlike the teardown a RAM upgrade demands. The e-ink unit pairs over Bluetooth, and the Pixel Matrix unit runs a cable to a rear port.
Warranty and return terms
JSAUX applies its site-wide terms here. Its warranty page states that "all products are covered by an 12-month warranty from the date of purchase at www.jsaux.com," running from the purchase date.
The company says it may repair, replace with a new or refurbished equivalent, or swap the whole unit at its discretion. Replacement parts are covered for the remainder of the original 12 months or 90 days, whichever is longer.
Returns run to 15 days. Undamaged products can be returned for a full refund within that window, with all accessories, original packaging and proof of purchase, once the item is inspected at the warehouse.
The console itself is still behind a reservation queue
An order placed now may be an accessory for hardware the buyer does not have. Valve says it began shipping the Steam Machine at the end of June and is still working through its list.
In its own status post, Valve says it is "fulfilling orders on a daily basis," emailing reservation holders in list order. It expects everyone in the queue to have the option to purchase by the end of this year.
Valve also warns that a buyer "must complete your purchase within 72 hours or we will move to the next person in line." The queue runs per product and per region.
What Valve publishes, and what is still unstated
Valve's current Steam Machine store page does not mention faceplates, swappable panels or third-party accessories anywhere. That is a plain observation about the page rather than a position Valve has taken.
Valve does publish a downloadable CAD file for the Steam Machine's external geometry on its own SteamOS GitLab, linked from that status post. It is the material behind community projects such as a faceplate that doubles as a controller charging dock.
Valve has been reported to have released its own open-source DIY e-ink faceplate design, and to have said it has no specific plans for more official faceplates. That remains a reported claim.
Several details are still missing at the time of writing. JSAUX gives no exact date for either batch, and does not say whether the Pixel Matrix cable is in the box.
Valve has not addressed whether a third-party magnetic faceplate affects the console's own warranty. Neither company has said what the 3.5W draw does to system power or thermals, and prices can change after the September 26, 2026 check.
