Amazon is selling the HyperX Cloud III wired gaming headset in Black-Red for $57.99 at the time of writing, cutting $42 from its $99.99 list price, a 42% discount that applies to this one color only.
It is a closed-back wired headset with angled 53mm drivers, a detachable 10mm microphone, an aluminum frame, and 3.5mm, USB-A and USB-C connections.
What the $57.99 HyperX Cloud III price actually means
The $99.99 list price matches the launch price HyperX announced at COMPUTEX on May 30, 2023.
HyperX's own US store also sells the Black-Red version for $57.99, so this is not an Amazon-exclusive price.
The saving depends on color: the Black and White-Pink versions cost $69.99 on the HyperX store, while Black-Blue, Black-Lavender, White and White-Blue remain at the full $99.99.
No primary-source price history is available, so there is no basis for calling $57.99 a record low.

Those weights do not match exactly, since 0.70lb converts to about 318g, not 320g.
Compatibility, DTS Headphone:X and NGENUITY caveats
HyperX's US product page lists PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mac and mobile, more than the Amazon title names.
It connects over a 3.5mm 4-pole CTIA plug or USB, but HyperX does not say which connection each platform should use.
The launch press release promised lifetime DTS Headphone:X activation, yet the product page frames it as "Audio advantage and immersion on PC."
HyperX does not publish how the feature is activated on the wired Cloud III, whether the USB dongle is required, or whether spatial audio works on PS5 or Xbox.
It has been reported that DTS Sound Unbound only enables Headphone:X on other headsets with a whitelisted USB adapter or a bought license, which is unconfirmed for the Cloud III.

The wired Cloud III is also missing from HyperX's NGENUITY-compatible headset list, while the Cloud III S Wireless is on it.
After plugging it in, a quick Windows headset microphone test shows whether the detachable mic is picking up audio.

The alternatives below are wireless noise-cancelling headphones, a different category from a wired gaming headset.
None is listed with a boom mic, and the cheapest costs $52 more.
