God of War Laufey Pre-Orders Open at $69.99, With a $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition

Sony opened pre-orders for God of War Laufey on September 29, 2026, with two editions and nothing above them. The split is $69.99 for the Standard Edition and $79.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition on the US PlayStation Store.

Santa Monica Studio set out the contents in a PlayStation Blog post published September 28, 2026, credited to communications director Grace Orlady. The studio confirmed again that the game arrives on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027.

The extra $10 buys four pieces of in-game gear, a resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the digital soundtrack. It does not buy early access. Neither edition unlocks before launch day.

What the two God of War Laufey editions cost

EditionPrice and format
Standard Edition$69.99, digital or disc
Digital Deluxe Edition$79.99, digital only
Digital Deluxe Upgrade$10.00, requires the base game

The Standard Edition is sold both digitally and on disc. The Digital Deluxe Edition is digital only, and Sony has listed no physical version of it.

The Digital Deluxe Upgrade is a separate $10.00 item for Standard Edition owners. Both routes therefore end at the same $79.99, so the decision can wait until after launch.

What the extra $10 actually includes

Santa Monica Studio lists the Deluxe content as the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales and Dark Alchemy Catalyst, plus an in-game resource pack. The digital mini artbook and the official soundtrack complete it.

The PlayStation Store listing describes the same gear differently. It calls the set a "Dark Alchemy Equipment Set" of five pieces, naming greaves and a bow where the blog post names bow scales.

Nothing in the Deluxe adds story content, missions or playtime. The entire $10 premium is gear and digital extras.

The pre-order bonus does not depend on the edition

Pre-ordering either edition adds the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance and a second in-game resource pack. The store page splits the armor into two items, the Last Wish Armor and a Last Wish Waistguard.

Phranque is the cube companion that drew pushback after the reveal. The bonus changes how it looks and nothing else.

Sony has published no retailer-exclusive bonus. The blog post says pre-orders run through the PlayStation Store and participating retailers, with the same three items attached everywhere.

Buyers of the physical Standard Edition receive the bonus as a download code. Sony's footnote adds that an internet connection and a PlayStation account are required to redeem it.

Cosmetic, or a gameplay perk

Only one item carries a cosmetic label. Sony marks the Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance as cosmetic only and leaves every other bonus and Deluxe item unmarked.

The rest touch gameplay. Santa Monica Studio says Faye's armor options "allow you to choose between a range of gameplay perks, stats, and unique looks", which covers both armor sets on offer.

The Deluxe bow scales are explicit. The studio says Scales change the look of the Serpent Bow and "the type of playstyle it specializes in via a unique perk", and names the Dark Alchemy Bow Scales as its example.

Catalysts are described as artifacts with different effects, and resource packs are upgrade material. In a single-player game that is not a competitive edge, but it is not pure decoration either.

What Sony has not published

Every bonus and Deluxe item carries the same asterisk, reading "Unlock in-game items via story progression". Sony does not say how far into the story any of them sits.

There is also no PC version. Sony has announced no PC release, no PC date and no Steam listing, and the announcement names only PlayStation 5 consoles for the game that puts Faye in the lead.

No collector's edition has been listed, and Sony has not said whether one is planned. The figures above are the US PlayStation Store prices as of October 3, 2026, and storefront pricing can move before the February 16, 2027 release.
