Ubisoft is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon with new content for Ghost Recon Wildlands, a free PC giveaway, and the first public step toward the next game in the series.
Ghost Recon Wildlands has received a free mission called Last Rites across PC and consoles. The update also improves the game on current generation consoles with a new 4K 60 FPS option and adds more settings for difficulty, interface elements, enemy behaviour, weapon restrictions, weather, friendly fire, and other gameplay systems.
Ubisoft has also confirmed that the next Ghost Recon game has been in development for several years. Players can now register for a new Ghost Recon Insider Program that will allow selected participants to provide feedback during development.
Meanwhile, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is free to claim on PC through Ubisoft Connect until August 13, 2026.
Ghost Recon Wildlands gets a new Last Rites mission
Last Rites is a standalone mission set in a darker version of Bolivia.
The Ghosts enter territory controlled by Los Penitentes, a violent cult led by a figure known as La Llorona. Players must move through swamps and dense forests while tracking the cult leader in areas where visibility is deliberately limited.

The mission is intended as a new piece of content for a game that originally launched in 2017.

The update also brings back the Predator event.
The crossover originally allowed players to hunt the alien Predator in a special encounter. Its return gives players another reason to revisit Wildlands alongside the new Last Rites mission.
The event had previously been unavailable, so its inclusion is one of the more notable anniversary additions for longtime players.
Ubisoft has not indicated whether the Predator content will remain permanently available or return only for a limited period.
Ubisoft confirms the next Ghost Recon is already in development
Ubisoft has also confirmed that work on the next Ghost Recon game has been underway for several years.
The company has not revealed the setting, release date, gameplay structure, platforms, or formal title.
Instead, Ubisoft is opening a Ghost Recon Insider Program to collect feedback from players before the game is ready for a wider reveal.
