FromSoftware has officially delayed The Duskbloods to 2027, confirming that its upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive needs additional development time before release.
The multiplayer action game was originally scheduled to launch sometime in 2026, but the developer has now pushed it into next year without announcing a specific release date.
According to the studio, development has reached its final adjustment stage, with remaining work focused on gameplay rules, combat balancing, and improvements based on player feedback.
The delay follows several network testing sessions conducted earlier this year, allowing the developer to evaluate the game's multiplayer systems.
The Duskbloods Delay Focuses on Gameplay Balancing
FromSoftware explained that the decision followed feedback gathered during its network tests.
Players reportedly showed considerable interest in the game's combat mechanics, strategic elements, and character customization options.
However, the studio determined that additional adjustments were necessary to improve the overall multiplayer experience.
The remaining development work includes refining game rules and balancing systems that influence competitive encounters.
Since The Duskbloods combines combat against other players with encounters involving computer controlled enemies, maintaining balanced gameplay is particularly important.
The developer has apologized for the delay and thanked players for their continued patience.
There is currently no indication that the postponement is connected to the November 19 release of Grand Theft Auto VI.
The Duskbloods Features Eight Player Multiplayer Battles
The Duskbloods introduces an online multiplayer structure that differs from FromSoftware's traditional single player focused action RPGs.
Each match features eight players exploring a shared environment, fighting enemies, and completing objectives.

Players can also confront one another, creating situations where cooperation and competition may influence how encounters unfold.
The game features playable characters known as Bloodsworn, each equipped with different weapons, abilities, and combat styles.
These characters originate from different timelines, allowing the developer to introduce varied appearances and technologies within the same setting.
Although the game retains elements of FromSoftware's established combat design, its world is separate from the developer's existing franchises.
Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Now Scheduled for 2027
FromSoftware originally announced The Duskbloods in April 2025 as an exclusive title for Nintendo Switch 2.
The upcoming release will remain exclusive to the platform, with no additional versions announced.
The studio has not provided a specific launch month or confirmed whether further network tests will take place.
For now, The Duskbloods remains scheduled for 2027 as FromSoftware continues refining its multiplayer mechanics ahead of release.
