Forza Horizon 6 has received a new update that resets the Rivals Leaderboards, improves computer controlled driving behaviour, and fixes several problems affecting cars, saves, audio, and visuals.
Version 398.92.0 is now available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, the Xbox app for Windows, and Steam. The update focuses mainly on correcting bugs and closing exploits that affected competitive results.
One of the most noticeable gameplay fixes addresses excessive collisions caused by computer controlled drivers. AI vehicles could behave unpredictably and make unnecessary contact during races, creating frustrating situations for players. The new version adjusts that behaviour to reduce unusual crashes and improve the flow of events.
Rivals Leaderboards have been fully reset after exploit concerns
The largest change is a complete reset of the Rivals Leaderboards. Suspicious results had appeared because some players were taking advantage of glitches and using Drag Tires in ways that produced unrealistic times.

Physics changes introduced in an earlier update were designed to remove several of those advantages. Resetting the leaderboards allows future records to reflect the revised handling model and gives legitimate competitors a cleaner starting point.
The reset also removes valid records posted by players who did not use exploits. However, rewards already earned through the Collection Journal will remain available. Players will not lose those items simply because their previous leaderboard times were removed.
PR Stunt Leaderboards are also expected to receive a reset at a later stage. That will happen after the remaining exploits affecting those activities have been fixed. No date has been confirmed for that process.
| Update area | Main change |
|---|---|
| Rivals Leaderboards | All recorded times have been reset |
| Collection Journal | Previously earned rewards remain available |
| PR Stunt Leaderboards | Reset planned after exploits are fixed |
| AI driving | Excessive and unusual collisions reduced |
| Toyota MR2 GT | No longer stops after hitting kerbs |
| Treasure Cars | Can no longer be accidentally removed |
| Lost saves | Cloud save conflict recovery has been improved |
Car specific bugs and missing Treasure Cars have been addressed
The update corrects a problem affecting the 1995 Toyota MR2 GT. The car could suddenly stop after touching certain kerbs, disrupting races and making the vehicle difficult to use on some routes. It should now respond normally after making contact with those surfaces.
A separate issue allowed Treasure Cars to be accidentally removed from the My Cars collection. The latest patch prevents that from happening again.
Players who lost a Treasure Car before the fix may still need assistance to restore it. They can contact the game’s support team and submit a ticket for the missing vehicle.
Several other corrections cover audio, visual presentation, and general gameplay behaviour. These smaller fixes should improve stability and remove inconsistencies that players have encountered since launch.
Cloud save recovery now gives affected players another option
The developers also shared an update about the save data problem that caused some players to lose progress. System level fixes have already been released for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, including another update on July 2.
When an affected player loads the game, a conflict message should now appear if different save versions are detected. The message allows the most recent cloud save to be selected and restored.
This recovery option may help players regain progress that appeared to be missing, although results will depend on whether a newer cloud copy is still available. Anyone facing continued save problems should avoid overwriting existing cloud data until the available versions have been reviewed.
Forza Horizon 6 version 398.92.0 is primarily a maintenance update, but the leaderboard reset will have a major effect on competitive play. Rivals participants will need to record new times, while the removal of several exploits should make future rankings more reliable.
