Final Fantasy VII Revelation could still arrive before the end of Square Enix's current fiscal year even though the publisher has left its full year financial forecast unchanged.
The final chapter of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy is officially scheduled for Spring 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. That window creates an important question because Square Enix's fiscal year ends on March 31, 2027.
The company's latest forecast does not appear to include a major sales contribution from Revelation, which could suggest an April 2027 or later release. However, Square Enix's previous financial reporting shows that an unchanged forecast does not necessarily rule out a late March launch.

Square Enix currently forecasts full year net sales of ¥298 billion, only around 0.1% higher than the previous fiscal year.
A simultaneous multiplatform launch for a major Final Fantasy title would normally be expected to have a noticeable impact on sales. The absence of a substantial forecast increase therefore makes an April or later release appear more likely.
It is not definitive evidence, however.
Square Enix may wait for an exact release date
The publisher has previously kept its financial guidance unchanged until a major game's launch plans became more certain.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth provides a useful example. Square Enix maintained relatively stable forecasts before confirming the game's February 29 release date and gaining better visibility into preorders and expected launch sales.
A similar process could be happening with Revelation.
Under that scenario, Square Enix could announce a March release date later in the fiscal year and then revise its earnings guidance once preorder data and launch expectations become clearer.
That means a release during the final days of March remains possible even if the current forecast does not reflect it.
Spring officially begins in late March, so a launch between roughly March 20 and March 31 would satisfy the announced Spring 2027 window while still allowing initial sales to be counted in the current fiscal year.
Rebirth helped drive stronger recent results
Square Enix's latest results were supported by its HD Games business, which benefited from new platform releases and continued catalog sales.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth expanded to Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, helping improve performance alongside The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales.
Net sales increased 32.3% compared with the same quarter a year earlier.
Operating income rose 88.6%, while ordinary income increased 172.4%.
Those gains show the value of expanding major titles across more platforms, which is also central to the release strategy for Revelation.
Unlike the earlier entries in the remake trilogy, Revelation is planned as a simultaneous multiplatform release. That should give Square Enix access to a wider audience from day one rather than relying primarily on PlayStation sales before later ports arrive.
August could provide a clearer answer

Final Fantasy VII Revelation is scheduled to appear during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25, where Square Enix is expected to show more of the game.
Tokyo Game Show follows in September, giving the publisher another major opportunity to discuss its release plans.
An exact date may not necessarily be announced at either event, but the closer Revelation gets to launch, the harder it will become for Square Enix to avoid narrowing the current Spring 2027 window.
The game is expected to expand significantly on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, including a larger world, further changes to its combat system and new mechanics such as the FITS system.
For now, an April 2027 or later release remains the easier interpretation of Square Enix's unchanged forecast. A late March launch should not be dismissed, however, because the publisher could still update its guidance after officially locking the release date.
Until Square Enix provides that date, March 2027 remains possible rather than confirmed.
