Playground Games has confirmed that Fable's achievement and trophy list is essentially complete, while reassuring players that reaching 100% completion will not require an extreme number of separate playthroughs.
Associate game directors Craig Littler and Will Kennedy discussed the achievement system during a press Q&A at Gamescom. The developers said the list has already been finalized in broad terms, but they are keeping the individual requirements secret for now because they want players to discover them naturally.
The studio also confirmed that completing the full achievement list, including earning the Platinum Trophy on PlayStation 5, will be achievable without repeatedly finishing the game thousands of times.

Playground wants the achievement list to remain a surprise
Littler confirmed that the development team already has the achievement list, but said Playground Games does not want to reveal it yet.
The decision appears intended to avoid giving away parts of the game before launch.
Previous Fable titles were known for achievements that could reference unusual activities, jokes, or specific choices, so keeping the requirements hidden may preserve some of those surprises.
The developers did not reveal how many achievements or trophies will be included.
They also did not explain whether any objectives will depend on morality choices, relationships, exploration, or other major systems.
Full completion should not demand endless replays
One concern with large role playing games is that certain trophies can require several complete runs, especially when achievements are linked to mutually exclusive decisions.
Kennedy said reaching 100% completion is feasible, although he did not provide an estimated completion time.
Littler joked that players would not need something like 30,000 playthroughs and explicitly committed to avoiding that kind of requirement.
The comments do not confirm that Fable can be fully completed in a single run.
Instead, they establish that Playground Games is not designing the achievement list around an excessive number of repeated campaigns.
Fable's main story is expected to take 15 to 20 hours
Playground Games has previously said Fable's main story should take approximately 15 to 20 hours.
Players who spend more time with open world activities can expect a significantly longer experience.
The game includes more than 1,000 unique NPCs, giving players a large population to interact with across its world.
That scale suggests many achievements could potentially be tied to exploration and optional systems, although the studio has not confirmed specific requirements.
Completion time remains unknown
Even though players have been assured that massive numbers of playthroughs will not be necessary, Playground Games has not said how many hours a full completion will take.

That will depend on how much of the achievement list is connected to optional activities, open world exploration, collectible systems, combat challenges, and other content outside the main story.
It is also unclear whether any trophies will be missable or require specific decisions.
Those details are likely to remain unknown until the achievement list is revealed closer to release.
Xbox Series X will include a 60 FPS mode
Fable is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC.
Playground Games has confirmed that Xbox Series X will include a 60 FPS performance mode.
The studio has not yet confirmed equivalent graphics and performance options for PlayStation 5 or PC.
With the achievement list already taking shape, development appears to have moved far enough along that the studio can begin discussing completion structure while still keeping individual trophies secret.
For players interested in earning every achievement or the PlayStation Platinum, the main reassurance is clear: Fable will not demand an unreasonable number of full playthroughs just to reach 100% completion.
