The mysterious sounds were linked to audio files found inside the launcher's SocialChimes folder.
These sounds are normally associated with Epic's social and party functions.
Examples include notifications for someone leaving a party, push to talk being activated or deactivated, and incoming messages.
The unusual part is that some people have heard these sounds even when they were not actively participating in an Epic Games party.
