Dispatch will arrive on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Windows PC through the Xbox app on July 29, 2026. The release will also support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing you to move between console and PC while keeping your progress and achievements connected to the same account.
The superhero narrative adventure was first confirmed for Xbox in March, but its release date remained unclear until now. The upcoming version will also be available through Xbox Cloud Gaming, giving supported players another way to access the game without relying entirely on local hardware.
There is currently no confirmation that Dispatch will join Xbox Game Pass. Unless that changes before release, you will need to purchase the game separately.
Dispatch combines workplace management with a superhero story
Dispatch follows Robert Robertson, also known as Mecha Man. After his mechanical suit is destroyed during a fight with a supervillain, Robert can no longer continue his normal superhero work.
He accepts a job at the Superhero Dispatch Network, an organization that sends heroes to emergencies across the city. The team under his control is made up largely of former villains who are being given an opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Your role involves assigning the right team members to different incidents while managing their abilities, personalities, and conflicts. Some characters may be well suited to certain missions but difficult to work with, so decisions extend beyond choosing the strongest available hero.
Robert must also build relationships with his colleagues and slowly repair his damaged suit. His longer term goal is to return to action and confront the villain responsible for ending his original career.

Choices shape missions and relationships
The game mixes dialogue driven storytelling with management systems. During emergencies, you decide which heroes should respond based on their skills and the demands of the situation.
Sending an unsuitable character can lead to poor results, while a strong combination may resolve an incident more effectively. However, success is not based entirely on abilities. Personal tensions within the team can also affect how characters perform together.
Between missions, conversations and relationship choices influence the story. These decisions can change how colleagues view Robert and may alter later scenes or outcomes.

The writing team includes developers who previously worked on The Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands. Dispatch follows a similar approach by placing character interaction, humor, and player choice at the centre of the experience.
The game first gained attention through its episodic release on other platforms. All episodes are now available, so Xbox players will receive access to the complete story rather than waiting for additional chapters after launch.
The game found a large audience after its original release
Dispatch became a commercial success after launching on PC and PlayStation 5. It sold more than one million copies across those platforms within its first ten days.
The game also received recognition for its animation, audio, acting, and story. Its combination of workplace comedy and superhero drama helped it stand apart from more traditional action focused games based on similar themes.
Xbox Play Anywhere support should make the new release more flexible. A single digital purchase will provide access on supported Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, with saves and achievements carried between both platforms.
Dispatch will launch for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, the Xbox PC app, and Xbox Cloud Gaming on July 29, 2026. Its arrival gives Xbox players access to the complete narrative adventure several months after its original success on other platforms.
