Beast of Reincarnation is getting its first major multiplatform update shortly after launch, with five specific improvements already confirmed by the development team.
The patch is targeted to arrive within a week and will address camera behaviour, text size, story pacing, the default graphics setting, and additional bugs. The team also says more updates are planned beyond this first patch.
The update follows an emergency Xbox patch released on launch day to address performance problems. Unlike that earlier fix, the upcoming update is planned for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
Five changes are confirmed for the next patch
The development team has outlined the main areas it intends to address.
| Improvement | Planned change |
|---|---|
| Camera | Adjustments to camera behaviour |
| Text | Larger text size |
| Story | Pacing improvements |
| Graphics default | Performance mode becomes the default |
| Stability | Additional bug fixes |
One of the more noticeable changes will be switching the default graphics option from Cinematic mode to Performance mode. Players will still have access to the available display settings, but the game will start with Performance selected by default after the update.
The story pacing adjustments are also described as an ongoing area of work, suggesting this first patch may not be the last time the campaign structure receives changes.
Game Freak says more updates are planned
The studio says it is taking player feedback into account and is preparing a series of continuous updates.
A feedback form has also been made available for players who want to report problems or request improvements.
That means the five confirmed changes should be viewed as the beginning of the post launch update schedule rather than a complete list of everything the studio intends to modify.
Beast of Reincarnation launched on August 4 for Xbox Series X and Series S, PS5, and PC. It is also available through Xbox Game Pass.
The first Xbox patch focused on performance
The upcoming update is technically not the game's first patch.
An emergency update was released for Xbox on launch day after performance issues were discovered. The new patch is being described as the first major update because it covers a broader selection of gameplay and presentation changes rather than focusing mainly on technical problems.

That distinction also matters because the launch day fix was specific to Xbox, while the next update will be released across all supported platforms.
The timing is relatively quick. Beast of Reincarnation had been available for only a little more than 24 hours when the five planned improvements were announced.
Early reception has been mixed
The game has received a mixed response since launch.
Reviews were described as decent rather than exceptional, while its Steam rating was sitting at Mixed when the update plans were announced.
The first major patch therefore arrives at an important time for the game. Camera changes and larger text should address presentation concerns, while making Performance mode the default directly responds to the importance of smoother gameplay after the Xbox version required an emergency performance fix.
Story pacing will likely take longer to assess because the developers have already indicated that adjustments in this area will continue beyond the first patch.
For now, the confirmed update is expected within a week, with further patches planned afterward as the team continues gathering feedback from players.
